National Drink Wine Day is definitely celebrated in our home more often than once a year. 😆 We certainly don’t need a random themed day to uncork some tasty juice to celebrate. 🍷 Nonetheless, we took the opportunity to choose a selection from one of our favorites. @waylanwineco in @losolivosca inside @santaynezvalley. 🌟 This 2017 Cab Sauv from Riata Oaks Vineyard had some fresh fruit flavors despite some age on the wine with a smooth profile and a lingering, enjoyable finish that we’ve come to savor from Waylan’s wines. 🌵💗 For Valentine's Day, we celebrated our great State 48's birthday by LOVING our time in nature while helping out on a project for @desertfoothillslandtrust. 🇺🇸 Visiting the Pearl Harbor Memorial above the U.S.S. Missouri earlier this year was a surreal experience. We knew it would be heavy, but an eerie feeling encompassed us when we saw oil bubbles still rising to the surface, understanding that we were standing above a tomb of so many brave service members. It was emotional, humbling and important that we go pay tribute and understand where we’ve been so it’s clearer to see where we’re moving forward. 🎨 Break out your creative side when you visit Cadillac Ranch near Amarillo, Texas along the Interstate 40. It was amazing to see the many layers of paint that had accumulated on these Cadillacs over the years, creating a thick coating over the remains of each vehicle. 🌠 Pro tip: if you wish to spray paint your message on these cars, bring it with you so you don’t have to buy it on-site. 💎 A hidden gem in New Mexico for wine lovers, this pocket of small family-owned wineries on homesteads among horse ranches nearby the Rio Grande River in northwest Albuquerque, the Corrales Wine Loop makes for a wonderful afternoon of wine tasting. 🍷 It’s a great opportunity to explore New Mexico wines and it simply feels different here to us than other parts of the nearby city. 🌅 The views of the Sandia Mountains from each location, especially just before sunset, are an extra special treat we’d recommend. 🍷 Popped this @lazyelm 2016 Petit Verdot from the @yadkinvalleync in @northcarolina from our visit there in summer 2020 where we visited with owner and winemaker Chris, where he has turned a winemaking hobby into a passion business. He has a few acres of vineyards planted and specializes in red wines, including Mourvèdre and Malbec. This wine had some dark cherry notes with some earthy flavors and had a smooth, rich finish because of its age. If you’re in the @townofmocksville area, it’s worth a stop by to see what small batch wines he has available. 👏 Congrats to @arizonastronghold Vineyards on the Grand Opening of their @oldtownscottsdale tasting room, joining the @scottsdalewinetrail! They had two special wine releases to commemorate this event, both made from their Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in their Bonita Springs vineyard. 🍇 Our highlight was enjoying some conversation over wine with the winemaker Jason McCluskey (@wineinaz) we learned of some exciting developments on the horizon in both their vineyards and the @azstronghold winery. We’ll share more about these with you when they’re announced. 🤞 We even saw @writeonrubee pass by. 😊 We’ve been patiently waiting for this development for a few years and it was fulfilling to see it come to fruition.
