26.01.19 Jiye Lee: Karaoke
As a practice of taking an action against the ignorance towards different cultures, Jiye Lee is hosting a Karaoke event at trEIY with a humorous approach. Anyone at the event can request their favorite songs through provided QR code or URL. To evoke more diversity in the playlist, the songs written in non-English/German will have the priority on the playlist, but all songs are welcome. The event will perform as a gateway to expose the crowd to different cultures around the world, starting from the ones sitting next to you at the event.
This weekend, Jan 19th, 12-7pm, IDA GREEN is exhibiting as part as Home Work, organized by Klasse Fort (HfK Bremen), in the gallery of trEIY. We recommend you to come and also see the other exhibitions!

In this exhibition Contentual2 and Sammy J’s collaborate with Panthera. A charitable organization devoted to preserving big cats and their eco systems around the globe. 80% of all big cat species are experiencing population declines. A cocktail is going to be served to generate the funding.

At the moment, Ul Seo is engaging in the matter “meaning of life”. He creates his work over longer periods of time, including the act of repetition, which demonstrates his process purely. Viewers are invited to reflect on the question of “the meaning” for themselves.
Between the visible and the invisible, Hyunbok Lee constantly deconstructs defined things. Alternately, at different hours, distorted images are transmitted back and forth, between the conscious and subconscious mind.
Momentan beschäftigt Ul Seo sich mit dem „Sinn des Lebens“. Seine Arbeiten entstehen über eine längere Dauer mit mehreren Wiederholungen und zeigen den reinen Prozess. Die Betrachter*innen werden dazu eingeladen, über die Frage nach dem „Sinn“ für sich zu reflektieren.
Zwischen dem Sichtbaren und Unsichtbaren dekonstruiert Hyunbok Lee definierte Dinge. Zu verschiedenen Zeiten wechselnd, werden verzerrte Bilder vorgeführt, die zwischen Bewusstsein und Unterbewusstsein hin und her übertragen werden.
