Day 1 of introducing my Star Trek fic universe ‘cause I’m too lazy to rewrite and translate it - The Protagonists ! (1/2)
Hazel Dättwyler is spacerborn and lived her whole life on the USS Adventure. As a kid, she often spent hours either alone in her parent’s cabin or wandering all around the ship, doing shit that was sometimes dangerous. Later on, she founded the Strange New Worlds Daycare so other kids would have somewhere to go and make friends. The children love her and she always have fun ideas for activities and crafts.
She’s got golden retriever sweetheart vibes, gets super enthusiastic over stuff, sometimes way too much so. Usually she replaces cuss words with other words, like *duck* instead of fuck. When she eats, she always mixes everything that’s on her plate then wolfes it down. She’s very very tall for a human woman and that sometimes makes interaction kinda awkward.
She’s also unable to do the Vulcan hand sign (even after years of training). She took martial art classes as a teen thinking it made her cool and edgy but never ended up using any of the techniques she learned. Due to growing up on a spaceship, she often feels lost or dizzy when she’s on a planet.
She had a few love stories with humans and an Andorian guy, but nothing very serious. She’s not a hopeless romantic but she does enjoy cringey old holo-romances, with a preference for the spicier ones and historical drama. And yeah she’ll end up dating a grumpy half-Vulcan.
Day 1 of introducing my Star Trk fanfic universe ‘cause I’m too lazy to work on it - the Protagonists ! (2/2)
Yay Najak ! Was first created as a sona but then became just an OC. She’s still my favorite though. Lots of lore for her. CW for mentions of blood, bullying, injuries.
She had quite a shitty childhood. Her parents met on a cruise ship. Her father was a rich human client and her mother a tokiel dancer. They fell in love and moved together on Earth, and she was born a few years later. Her father left when she was 3, leaving her mother with no income and no place where to live (one of the differences between this AU and the original universe is it’s not quite as utopic and still has money). T’Kayna (Najak’s mother) started a small sewing shop in a suburban neighborhood, earning enough to live in a pretty bad flat. Najak went to public school and, being the only Vulcan of the school (not a lot of aliens in small towns - and who doesn’t love traumatized OCs ?) she was bullied. T’Kayna spoke no english or federation standard, and couldn’t really help. Najak just endured bullying till the end of elementary school. She has a scar on her right shoulder from kids "checking" if her blood was red or green.
In high school, she built herself a new persona. She wore noise-cancelling headphones to cover her ears, hid her tail under her clothes. She ended up being the "weird girl you should not pick a fight with" rather than popular but at least she was not seen as The Vulkie. (Vulkie is a term I made up for ATPMC. It was used as a slur against Vulcans in ENT-era, reclaimed during TOS-era mostly by half-Vulcans and it ended up being a casual, pejorative or even affectionate term for Vulcans)
She then went to Starfleet Academy to be an engineer, finished it with the "Best Purge of the Year" prize. Feeling disconnected from her Vulcan-ness, she travelled to her mother’s birthplace, a small city called Tol’aik. She stayed there for a year, studied the language and culture she tried to ignore all her life. It was at that moment she adopted the half-bleached half-natural hairstyle as a symbol of her mixed heritage.
Then she went back to Starfleet and was affected to the USS Adventure, an old wreck in desperate need of engineers. On her first day of work, she helped a coworker find his engagement ring he had lost. Then other engineers started asking her to find stuff they had lost. It left her no time for engineering, so she opened the Lost-and-Found Service, and it’s still her job in the main story.
She’s autistic and always eats the same stuff (plomeek soup, ice cream and tea). Personnality-wise she’s like is T’Pol and Bones were fused by a transporter malfunction. She CUSSES so much and all the time, complains a lot too. She does use some colorful metaphors like "Holy mother of Surak" or "You son of a tribblefucker".
And of course she falls in love with Hazel and they have the most stereotypical golden retriever/black cat vibes. Space Yuri is the best. Yay happy end. Or not. Eh eh eh.

The first episode of Star trek Discovery premiered on September 24, 2017. The events of the series began a decade before the adventures of Star Trek TOS. The series introduced Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh), who would go on to star in the Star Trek movie Star Trek: Division 31. The premiere episode mainly took place on May 11, 2256. Spock's father, Sarek (James Frain), appeared in the episode, who was previously portrayed by Mark Lenard and Jonathan Simpson. Instead of the Enterprise, this series focused on the starship Discovery. Due to the passing of Majel Barrett, Tasia Velenza took over as the voice of the computers. ("The Vulcan Hello" Star Trek: Discovery, TV Event)
The Captain’s Oath is an oath for Starfleet captains which is taken upon assuming command of a starship that outlines the mission and objectives of the given ship in the United Federation of Planets and the core values that Starfleet stands for.
