The Apo situation gets so much worse when you remember only one member of the group actually believed she existed.
They all had met them, had spoken with her, had fought by their side. They had all made that little shack on tge lake together. Apo was there. Apo helped.
And they all forgot about her.
Legs claimed there had only been five of them.
Avid and Marm insisted she was an imaginary friend.
Drift believed they were both that and a collective hallucination.
Only Viking noticed. Only Viking cared. He was so worried, and they acted like he was crazy for it. Drift claimed he was lonely enough that Apo was a method of feeling less alone.
Viking was right to be worried. He was right to look.
Apo was dead in the water somewhere, and only one person was looking.
But why would he check the water? Apo can't swim, so they wouldn't have gone anywhere near it. She must be in the woods. She must be in the woods. Apo can't swim. I can't swim-!
She wasnt in the woods.. She must never had existed.
And now they're cold. They're so cold. And... and your trying to leave her? Why are you trying to leave? Why are you leaving me?
