I had a biology teacher that told us this story about an octopus at an aquarium in Australia. The staff were concerned because their population of crustaceans kept disappearing. No bodies or anything. So they checked the video feed to find out what’s up.

Across from the the crustacean tank was a small octopus tank. This little fucker squeezed out of a tiny hole at the top of his tank, walk across the hall, and get into the crustacean tank. He would then hunt and eat. After he was done, he crawled back out and get back in his tank

Here’s the kicker: security guards patrolled the area. The staff realized that the octopus had memorized the security’s routine. It would escape and be back between the guards’ round.

My friend who worked at Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska had a similar story.  Rare fish were disappearing, they suspected theft, and so set up a camera. An octopus was unlocking the top of its tank, walking across the suspended walkway, unlocking the other tank, eating his fill, re-locking the other tank, then re-locking its own tank.

I can’t remember what zoo this happened at, but there was another octopus somewhere who was unscrewing a water valve in the room where its tank was located and routinely flooding the place. The staffers had no idea what it was until they filmed the octopus caught in the act.

My dad worked in a lab and one of the rooms had a tank with an octopus in it. If they didn’t go play with the octopus he got bored and would climb out of his tank and steal the paperwork off the desks, and drag stuff into his tank to let the scientists know he was upset with them.

Seeking MPG/OPEN For Hubby on JCINK

So I play on a JCINK roleplay board called The Big Easy. This is a real life board that takes place in New Orleans. I have a character named Joslin Banks, whose playby is the lovely Kylie Bunbury. She is a spunky, cheerful sports radio host/intern and a communications graduate student at LSU. 

I’m seeking her husband, and hoping for someone to use the perfect Mark-Paul Gosselaar as his playby. He is a former sports star, who now coaches at one of the New Orleans’ universities, which is why he and Joslin live in New Orleans. He’s pretty open, but I have plenty ideas if anyone is interested.

They’re going to be a cute couple who have a lot of affection for them, but also some strain in their marriage from how busy they are and also the fact that Joslin pretty much keeps his marriage to him on the down low as much as she can since she doesn’t want people to think she’s using him for her career. Other drama is definitely welcome!

So I’ve been counting down the episodes until Misha’s 100th and trying to keep track of when his 100th would be. The next episode to air (Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell) will be his 98th. He’s not in 12x16 or 12x17. I wasn’t sure about 12x18, but I know he’s in 12x19, which is being filmed right now. 

My friend just saw Misha on set, and we had been talking about it right beforehand, so she just decided to ask him, and he said he’d been told that this was his 100th episode he was currently filming. 

Now, taking that with a grain of salt, as I don’t trust him to be actively tracking that sort of thing, what an incredible milestone for someone who was only supposed to film three episodes :D
