It’s a habit that’s hard to break. Pain, to be precise. It’s something that proves he’s alive. Whether self-inflicted or pain he receives from others it’s something he latches onto. Also something he seems to associate with feelings. If someone hurts him they give him purpose. Love. If they refuse him? They don’t understand his feelings, perhaps.. If they won’t hurt him?
They must hate him.
At times he purposely prods and pokes at someone he’s close to. His brothers, for example. For what? That hope they’ll turn on him. Strike him. Or even use a knife. It works, of course. With brothers easy to agitate at times, why wouldn’t it? (yuma’s punches are the best) But it’s a habit even they try get him to break.

His hands are like every other part of his body. Scarred. Some faded. Some new. Likely self inflicted or the results of an encounter with his brothers (encounters he likely prompted). Like his other scars, he makes an effort to make sure none of them fade too much. One has to be able to see them. While he’ll wear bandages as they’re needed and take care of his wounds, Azusa makes sure that they heal into nice scars.
New friends.
Otherwise, I would like to think that his hands are.. Cold. As a vampire’s would be.. They’re probably slender and his fingers are kind of long. His nails? Long enough so that he could scratch at some of his wounds if he felt it was necessary to keep them from healing without a scar remaining.
