those  words  are  no  comfort  to  hope,  she  finds  no  pleasure  in  hearing  it-  even  if  they  were  meant  to  be  something  kind.  knowing  penelope,  at  least  the  old  penelope,  those  words  could  both  be  praise  and  shame  all  at  once  and  it  leaves  hope  with  a  confused  mess  of  emotions  as  she  hears  them.

“you  missed  a  lot.”  a  lot,  hope  thinks,  of  what  may  just  redeem  her  of  recent  actions.  maybe  not.  perhaps  the  true  mikaelson  curse  isn’t  immortality,  isn’t  being  a  monster-  it’s  the  knowing  that  no  matter  what  happens  there  is  no  redemption  from  the  pain  and  suffering  she  caused.
