Even though it's no longer pride month (in the US), I wanted to share an interview with Dr. Ronnie Gladden that was recorded then! Yes, I am in fact back on my Dr. Gladden podium.
For those who don't know, Dr. Ronnie Gladden (they/them) is a queer and transracial (in a trace way) public speaker and activist, one of the few transrace activists out there right now! They've written a book on their intersecting identities of being transgender and transracial, coining the term "transgracial" to better discuss their inner identity struggles with feeling as if they should be a white woman. Their book White Girl Within is about navigating those feelings.
This interviewer, Sheree Curry, is a black Jewish freelance journalist; she is a former Fortune reporter and Wall Street Journal correspondent. Though her YouTube channel is small, it's still really awesome to see some people taking trace identity seriously enough to sit down and listen to our experiences.
The interview itself isn't anything groundbreaking for those of us in transID spaces; it's a lot of identity 101 and discussing the validity of transracial identity. I still think it's worth checking out though if you're not familiar with transrace activism, but feel free to skip this one if topics like that make you uncomfortable!

if yur transabled but yu don't want the full disability becus yu don't feel comfortable with it or don't think yu could handle it, yur valid and still transabled.
if yur transabled and yu don't have the proper support systems to protect yu if/when yu transition so yur unwilling to, yur valid and still transabled
if yur transabled but don't want to transition becus yu already have multiple cisdisabilities, yur valid and still transabled
if yur transabled and yur not ready (mentally or physically) to transition, yur valid and still transabled
if yur transabled and don't want to transition at all, yur valid and still transabled
May you please make a Trans-Thai stimboard??

wish there was a consistent emoji person appearance between ๐ง๐ป & ๐ง๐พ that also wasnt like ๐ง๐ฝ where the hair is black and skin tone is either the latter of the first two i& mentioned or like the one thats "between" bc i& can kinda identify with the one thats between but the brown hair makes me& dysphoric.. also ofc there should be more options/appearances represented in general but i& am here commenting from this specific trace related personal thing

btw i think transabled ppl should be allowed to complain about their disabilities they transitioned to
i think transamputees should be allowed to complain about phantom pain or how hard it is to get around places and do things without getting "i told yu so" as a response
transwheelchairusers should get to talk about how hard it is to find accessible places without being told "well this is what yu wanted"
transdepression individuals should talk about how hard it is to live with depression and get sympathy, not be brushed off
just becus we want these disabilities doesn't mean it'll always be sunshine and rainbows. not everyone will experience euphoria from struggling. even the things we love have downsides to them. the dream job yu finally got will have shitty coworkers or shitty experiences. yur favorite hobby might injure yu (both minor and major depending on the hobby)
if a cisabled person can be proud of their disabilities and still rant about how much it sucks then transabled individuals should be able to do it as well

I found this on Wayback Machine so cannot reblog it, but I wanna bring this back.
(Note that I use the definition of kink where it's an attraction to an action/state/process. If it's an object/body part/concept, that's a fetish. But I'll rate those too.)

Transchinese?
TransChinese Tips!!
put together entirely by my wonderful boyfriend because i had no ideas
- -research common religions, significant historical and cultural elements, and stories!
- -look into modern stories written by and about chinese people, especially in genres you enjoy
- -look into small local businesses selling beauty products, food, and other items. that way you can support chinese businesses and experience your own euphoria :]
- -learn the language! mandarin is a big one but there are smaller languages belonging to minority ethnic groups if you belong to one of those
- -go to museums and look at chinese art. itโs fascinating and could help you connect some
thatโs all, i hope it helps!
