Reblogging this for response in tags but this is the really interesting thing about the Addisons or at least the prototype about them. in the Fall 2024 Newsletter Toby released concept art for the Addisons and the original had a much more feminine design:

and with this he also explained that their design was based around the concept of Spamton, meaning Spamton's design was first:

So maybe not wholly intentional but I am tossing this upon the pile of evidence why I've always suspected Spamton is transmasc in the game as well. I don't know if Toby changed Spamton's gender in regards or if he always was male at concept (Mad Mailer, yes I am aware, but there is also the prototype of Mettaton to consider with the long nose as well,) but the theming and journey about gender presentation and identity are pretty noticeable in Spamton's arc when we meet him ( for an example "I WANT TO BE A REAL BOY" can be read in various ways, the sense of him wanting to be like us the player in the legitimate concept of reality but also being seen as a man,) and are also very prominent in two characters that he's linked to in Undertale: Mettaton (or Mettaton's ghost,) and Mad Mew Mew (formerly Mad Dummy.)
