One thing I find challenging about navigating romantic relationships as someone who identifies as demisexual is that attraction doesn’t always appear immediately.

It’s not that I’m uninterested, it’s that I need time, connection, and understanding before I know what I feel.

I don’t want to fake attraction signals just to reassure someone. I want my feelings to develop honestly.

Sometimes people interpret that as rejection, but my experience of attraction simply develops differently….

A value I’ve become very clear on: I need relationships where people are willing to be direct.

I don’t need perfect communication. I don’t need someone who never makes mistakes.

I need someone who is curious enough to ask, honest enough to express themselves, and mature enough to repair when something feels off.

Avoidance creates confusion. Assumptions create distance. Silence leaves people filling in blanks.

I value connections where both people are willing to show up and understand each other.
