how did Lotor embarrass himself twice in front of Allura?
Well failing the trial is the more obvious one, I’m sure that was fun having to explain when she exited. But also something I don’t think too many people bring up and what may have also played a role in his failing of the white lion trial was this:
Like if it hadn’t been for Allura they would’ve been toast, which is not to say he’s embarrassed by being saved by Allura but just look at him this is something we haven’t seen Lotor do up till this point which is just freeze up like this! Like he’s just bracing for it, cowering even.
That goes against everything thats been hardwired into him which is why I think he tried to double down and overcompensate for this when going up against the White Lion. Since as you all noticed the minute shit went sideways Lotor was immediately ready to throw hands this time, the added stress of being separated from Allura (evident when he immediately calls for her) his life being threatened and the fact that he froze the last time just shows on his face:
like he’s clearly fucking terrified lol. So all of that is to say yeah he probably feels extremely embarrassed for failing in front of Allura and for failing himself. Which goes back to my other post about Lotor’s face lighting up whenever Allura commended him for his help despite past or present failures on his part. Like you really think the Galra were handing out participation points or rewarded failure of any kind? Like he’s not used to any of that… at all.
he sleeps..
Your post about how sanctimonious fandom is reminds me of someone I saw who said it was morally wrong to cosplay lotor. The worst part was this was in response to an Anon who also had a problem with people cosplaying him.
Wow..it’s not even that deep. Namely because Lotor’s not even remotely close to the worse ‘villain’ ever like people are hyping him up as. Like on the scale of Nastiness, he’s pushing a weak 2 atm. especially When Sendak, Haggar and that chaotic evil Space Abomination Keith’s mom sicked on the Galra are much deadlier and have much more malicious plans stirring but go off I guess.
I'm still waiting on a meta analysis on what exactly that thing was

lauren just said on the afterbuzz show that lotor is actually like a space vampire because of the quintessence in his DNA when he was in the womb, which allows him to stay young and age slower than regular Galra. its a part of him as much as it is a part of allura. so not only do lotura connect in the quintessence aspect which we already guessed but, lotor is now confirmed to be an alien vampire elven space prince which is basically a kink on top of a kink on top of a kink on top of a— 👅
WHAT THE CREATORS HAVE TOLD US ABOUT LOTOR
Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of Lotor antis making posts/videos about how Lotor is a liar. People say he’s a manipulator, and nothing he says is truthful. I don’t agree, but it wasn’t until the Afterbuzz TV episode that I had any proof. The creators of Voltron, Lauren Montgomery and J. Dos Santos talked about season five and finally told us that Lotor is not lying:
Lauren: “When we discussed Lotor we wanted to make sure that everything he said had a genuine nature to it…”
Dos Santos: “[Lotor] means things genuinely whether he’s playing somebody or not… he follows up on everything that he does… There’s no real lie to be had, I guess.”
Lauren: “When all is said and done we will be able to look back and realize that [Lotor] has been telling the truth this whole time.”
(Wow. This line.)
Dos Santos: “[Lotor has] had a lot of trauma in his life, so just the fact that he’s overcome that and gotten to a place where he can see both sides - he’s sort of where Allura eventually arrived when you really break it down. He respects both sides of the war.”
When asked about Lotor hurting others in the past Dos Santos said: “Shiro had a similar point pretty early on that with war comes some hard sacrifices… Lotor was just making some decisions.”
(He’s literally defending him, comparing what Lotor has done in the past to what Shiro has said about making sacrifices during wartime.)
Here’s the link to the video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC4IUL0JFlo
SUMMARY:
1. Lotor is not a liar (so you antis can shut your mouth about that, thx)
2. Lotor is genuine
3. Lotor has had a lot of trauma in his life
4. Both Shiro and Lotor understand that there must be sacrifices in war (Justification for him killing Narti? I don’t know.)
5. When everything is done the paladins will be able to look back and realize Lotor had been telling the truth the whole time
6. Lotor could manipulate people in the future, possibly, we don’t know. He could “play” people in the next few seasons, but he’s not a liar.
AfterBuzz Interview Quote:
Interviewer: Was there a lot of discussion in terms of how you wanted to handles those beats? Like whether or not it was better to play [Lotor] up as more duplicitous, or if you wanted to make him more sympathetic, before you guys finally decided on the tone that we went with for these two episodes [”The Prisoner” and “Blood Duel”]?
Lauren: I think when we discussed Lotor, we wanted to make sure that everything he said had an element of genuine quality to it.
Joaquim: Like a genuine nature to it, yea. He didn’t–He hasn’t really done anything to make you believe he wanted to continue on the path of Zarkon, even in the time before… He just has his own way about going about these things. So yea, I think the bigger sort of Lotor story point or character point was that… he means things genuinely. Whether he’s playing somebody or not, he sort of follows up on everything that he does. So there’s no real lie to be had, I guess? [Looks to Lauren]
Lauren: Yea. I think when all is said and done, we’ll be able to look back and realize that he’s been telling the truth this whole time. It’s just a matter of, where does it go from here?
Joaquim: Where does the truth go from here, really?
Lauren and Joaquim discuss how they approached Lotor’s story and character
It's confirmed he's not a lying snake. I live bitch
Lauren to Tim after he said that Lance did remember the bonding moment it was just that he wasn’t emotionally ready for it
ALL GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS BOYS BOYS BOYS
“all girls, girls, girls, boys, boys, boys or whatever”
This is Lauren Montgomery’s basement and Jeremy Shadas just living in it
I mean..yeah Translation: “What a beautiful bird. I’ll feed it to my python.” Baby Lotor is creepy.
A bunch of mama Krolia and baby keef, non of these are how I imagine their cannon relationship but let me indulge myself…
