Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate! Can you believe it's been 2 years since I released the original S3DT ?! 😮
This version brings the long awaited SCALING, as well as hotkeys for changing presets and a few other little things. Please take time to read through all the instructions. See THIS post for information about the rest of this mod.
These new hotkeys will only work when in Decorator Mode (Shift + D), similar to the other hotkeys. For some reason, the "Create Scaler" hotkey only works when moveobjects on is enabled.
PRESET SWITCHING
To switch between presets, pick up an object and use either (;) or (') keys (see diagram above) to move forward/backward. This will work with custom objects like paintings with lots of images, and also different patterns, including user saved presets!
SCALING
This mod uses a custom object to scale objects. You can buy it in Surfaces, Misc or use the hotkey (/) (see diagram) to create one immediately. Place your object on the scaler, and then pick up the scaler, not the object. Use hotkey (-) to make the object smaller and (=) to make it larger. To move your object, make sure to always pick up the scaler and apply any other transformations (rotation, changing height) to the scaler. The object will still be usable, and the scaler will disappear in live mode. Made the object so big you can't select the scaler anymore? Simply pick up the object in the slot, press 0 and it will switch the hand tool to the scaler so you can continue to move it.
NOTES & ISSUES WITH SCALING
When placing, sometimes it says "Location out of bounds", simply rotate or use MoveObjects on to get around this.
Sim animations will often look weird when using scaled objects.
Modular objects and certain large appliances will NOT scale.
Objects with slots and effects will also apply scaling to any objects placed in those slots, and the effects. So if you have a giant dining table, you'll get a giant chairs. Tiny fountain = tiny fountain effects.
Trees and bushes can technically be scaled, but its more of a compression of the leaves in and out, rather than proper scaling. You can do some cool stuff with this though!
If you have a scaler scaled to say, 200% and then clone that scaler, the new scaler will also be at 200%
EXTRA BUILD/BUY INTERACTIONS
These can be accessed by Shift + Clicking on any object in Build/Buy mode. 1. Remove Footprint - Removes the footprint from an object, allowing sims to walk through it or use other objects that would otherwise be blocked. This will remain even after you save and quit. 2. Disable Snow on Object - Disables snow on an object. Only for decorative objects, as functionality will be removed when you use this.

Weather Stone Default Replacement
Made this several years ago and was asked by @nonsimsical to share. I have the package file in my Overrides folder because of how I have my files structured and sorted. Details on how to use and/or place are in the above pictures and listed below.
Place an object with a surface slot - ie., counter, table, coffee table, end table, osmp, ect.
Locate Weather Stone in catalog - Buy>Entertainment>Misc.
Place it on the surface object - the Weather Stone will be invisible with a 6x6 footprint.
Press play for live mode - the Weather Stone (fern) will appear out of the ground.
Move the Weather Stone and delete the object surface.
The game will auto spawn these and it should replace the one that has already spawned. If it doesn't, then find it and delete it. Run the game and let it auto generate and it should spawn somewhere on your map as a fern.
If you want a bunch of them for some reason, then you have the above instructions for how to do that. I made them buyable, so this mod by @grandelama https://grandelama.tumblr.com/post/172045287427/buyable-weather-stone-for-ts3-requires-both will conflict.
Other useful things -
Weather Stone Map Tag Removal Mod by Reena - https://hello-domo-bear.tumblr.com/post/89331006501/weather-stone-map-tag-removal-mod-by-reena
To stop it spawning all together - Use Nraas Traveler - https://www.nraas.net/Traveler
City Hall/Computer > NRaas > Traveler > Allow Spawn Weather Stone = False (Stops the Weather Stone from automatically spawning.) per @simsarahsarah's Nraas setting pages.

This is my life.
Home Furnishing
I've been diving into furnishing homes lately, now that I finally have all my cc back in my game! However, I decluttered so much that I didn't have much in the way of curtains, and the ones I did love usually clipped, or didn't fit the variety of windows I like to use. So, I started making some modular curtains!
The way these are set up you can have a variety of options on how far you want your curtains open. Have an introvert or vampire? Put a couple of full curtains across all your windows. Have a 3 tile window? Throw the topper piece in between and stretch them out to cover it, or have a wall of windows! Shove open the curtains to one side, or anywhere in between.
There are three curtains to play with, plus the topper piece that can go anywhere in between them - or off to itself, if you really want to.
Just admiring the pretty woodwork for a second... and....
Enjoy guys!

how to make non recolorable cc objects recolorable | the sims 3 tutorial/guide
this one is for the anonymous person in my inbox yesterday, this is the best I can do ok sorry I am really not good at trying to teach things
A great cc find!
Some of you might know about the 2012/13 MTS thread about Zelda's Titanic. For the ones who don't, it was a huge project by Zelda101, that included various cool cc pieces but none better (and harder to replace) than BloomsBase's Ist class Grand Staircase dome, pictured here:
Sadly, the links on MTS are dead and BloomsBase has been inactive since the mid 2010s and his page too, so tracking this dome was almost impossible, until like 4 minutes ago!
I found a SimsFileShare file created by the one and only @murfeelee , who posted the link to download the dome back in a 2017 MTS thread!
It took me AGES to find it so I thought resharing the link woud be appreciated, specially amongst edwardian era enthusiasts like me!
Of course, special thanks to @murfeelee for making my year with this link (that I can't believe I found just now ☠)
Anyways: download the dome
(Tagging some history related simmers for it to reach more people!)

I made a ridiculously flower-filled environment for a colony of fairies and plantsims, and I needed to be able to flower-fy the world, not just the lots. So, I went through my plant hoard, pulled out every single outdoor plant with flowers on it, plus some larger, non-flowery grasses and weeds and such, and then edited them to make them available in Edit Town mode, so that they can be placed in the world, not just on lots. Not all of them worked, but a number of them did, so I figured I'd share the edited files, for anyone else who might need to do some ridiculous world flower-fying.
(Note: I don't necessarily recommend that you do so, generally speaking, because if done on a large scale it's likely to cause lag, much like having a billion trees in a world will. The world that I did it in is very small, though, and it seems to be OK. Just a word of warning.)
Anyway, you can download the folder of edited files here.
There are 90 files in the download, but there are more individual plants than that because some of those files are already merged. Am I taking pictures of all of them? Hell, no! It's a lot, man. You might not want to put all of them in your game…but then again, maybe you do. Or, maybe you already have them.
Anyway, here's a pic of some of them, placed in the world:
And I've also posted pics of the world I've used these edited files to flower-fy here and here.
Plants included:
Alcea (hollyhock) plants and large patches of mixed wildflowers by @technicallyswagpizza
Seasons-enabled wildflowers by @aminovas (Not sure if they'll change with the seasons when placed in the world rather than on a lot, though.)
Numerous patches of flowers/grasses/weeds by Lolalule
Lupins by @heavensims
Climbing roses by Visty6. (Although the original files have several presets, only the first one shows in Edit Town, which is the red one. They look strange standing alone in the world, as in the above pic, but you can place them up against trees and deco structures and such, which is why I wanted them worldified.)
The TS2 Eponymous Garden plants by Parsimonious, converted to TS3 by Aikea Guinea
Amarysauce's recolors of EA flowers and flowering shrubs (Except for the Frangipani and Hibiscus ones because if you have them, those will already appear in the Trees category of Edit Town because that's how they're categorized for regular build mode.) These files are merged so that all of the colors they come in are in one file. You can still merge them into larger merged files. Some of these require EPs or Store worlds. I'm assuming you can figure out which ones you can and cannot use.
16 climbing ivies and wisterias from the EA Store. These are the files from @blamseastore, NOT the original EA files. I'm not sure what will happen if you have both kinds of files in your game, so if you have those original EA files, you should probably uninstall them and use these files instead. Like the climbing roses, these look silly standing alone in the world, but you can place them up against trees and deco buildings. You can't shift them up and down when using them in the world, though, so it's possible that not all the pieces will be useful.
A bunch of various flowering shrubs, flowering groundcovers, and wildflower patches and such by "I Have Absolutely No Clue" because I have no idea when or where I got them and there are no clues in the file names or STBLs as to who made any of them.
Because I'm lazy, these are edited files, not overrides, so you don't need the original files if you don't already have them. (And if you do already have them, they'll just overwrite, unless you have your files merged. What you'll need to do in that case depends on how you merged your files in the first place.) Many of these were already flagged to be available in Edit Town, but they didn't have an appropriate category flag for Edit Town mode because for some stupid EA reason there aren't "Flower" or "Shrub" categories in Edit Town, only Trees, Rocks, and Landmarks. So, they didn't show anywhere. Others I had to make available as well as adding a category flag. Whatever the case, I take absolutely no credit for any of these. All I did was flip a switch or three, so to speak, in s3pe. It was a boring job, but hardly credit-worthy.
These will all be found in the Landmarks category when in Edit Town mode and (mostly) in the Flowers category in regular build mode, though I think some of them are in Shrubs. I chose the Landmark category for Edit Town, as opposed to Trees or Rocks, so that the objects don't also show up in those categories in regular build mode. Those categories are already cluttered enough in my game because I'm a plant and rock hoarder, and I really didn't need these items sitting in trees/rocks as well as flowers/shrubs.
So there you have it. Flower-fy away.
Landscaping can sometimes be difficult when you have to restrict yourself to using only certain plants, for fear of colors clashing. Not only that, but some EA bushes are too saturated. Therefore, I made a few recolors of the basegame Boxwood bush. Details: - 4 color variations: lighter, darker, and withered (light and dark versions), all slightly more desaturated than the game Boxwood; - found under Build Mode \ Shrubs, and World Builder \ Landmarks; - cost $50, animate properly, can now be placed on slopes; - don’t replace the existing Boxwood bush (unless you use a DR version, of course). Download: Default replacements (use only one!) Non-default replacements NEW Original Boxwood visible in World Builder and placeable on slopes Other neat plant recolors: Aminovas, HystericalParoxysm I have a few more recolors lined up! :)

Four new-ish terrain paints from unused, edited textures in the game files! I haven’t seen any of these in Build Mode, they were probably used in painting worlds. They all have custom thumbnails and descriptions.

Wild Grass - for TS3
Please, forgive me…I’m obsessed with 3D grass! :P A set of three beautiful shrubs: - Wild Grass Tall: 1x1, under Shrubs, 0§, 2 presets +1 colourable, vey low poly (20 polygons, 60 vertices) - Wild Grass Medium (1x1, under Shrubs, 0§, 2 presets + 1 colourable, very low poly (20 polygons, 60 vertices) - a default recolor of the gamebase Brambles, gently moving, even without wind :D (4x4, under Shrubs, 5§, non colourable, it overwrites the original brambles)

3D Garden Grass - for TS3
Ok, This upload is intended for finicky simmers, as I am. ;-) I’m always been very disappointed by the flatness of the Sims lawns: I mean, even with a decent texture, every garden looks terribly flat, just like a painted surface. So, after many efforts, I’ve finally reached a quite satisfying result with this 3D Garden Grass (although it shall be used over flat terrains only). It’s a set of five squared 3D grass tiles (not colourable, 0§, under Shrubs, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x and 5x), plus a half tile, cloned from the basegame clover groundcover, vith very LOW POLY (each squared tile has only 2 polygons and 4 vertices, the half tile just 1 polygon and 3 vertices…. lower than this…). Last but not least, a Garden Lawn Edging (ubder fences, 0§, not colourable), to define the grass area. packages only: >>>DOWNLOAD HERE

4 New Terrain Paints (Mostly Grass)
Another (old) batch of terrain paints made from combining textures from the game files. The growing grass ones work best in shady areas e.g. in forests 🙂
