It is such a hopeless feeling to see someone who is a dear friend, who you care so deeply about living with a constant threat on their life and not be able to help.
It has been 3 years of genocide in Gaza, and people like my friend @mohdayesh are still trapped in Gaza with no escape from their treacherous daily life.
Mohammed's wife is pregnant and to this day dealing with the pain of having a bullet lodged in her chest. And Mohammed is bearing the responsibility of trying to keep his family taken care of to the best of his abilities with the limited resources he can get his hands on.
Mohammad and I often spoke of his desires to start a life for himself and his wife outside of the war zone, away from the genocide, where they can finally have a taste of safety and security. There is nothing more that I want than the ability to snap a finger and help him achieve their dreams, but unfortunately that's not within my power. All I can do is plead with you to help.
Mod'd is my friend and someone I've been working with for the past 3 years to ensure that you can trust where your money is going and weed out harmful actors taking advantage of the crisis in Gaza. And he has worked tirelessly to that end. He often doesn't ask for help for himself because he wants to see others thrive, but now he has a wife and a child on the way and he can't sit and watch as they suffer in this genocide.

I would like to emphasize that I agree with all of these tags by the way. My post wasn't aiming to pin all of Europe's grotesque racism on the new elections.
A few weeks ago I was at a board game night with some of my old classmates from various mainland European countries. They started talking about how horrible Trump's treatment of immigrants is and how they're so glad to be in Europe where nothing like that is happening right now. I asked them what they thought about the fact that their own governments were complicit in turning the Mediterranean into a mass grave of asylum seekers, and some of them legitimately didn't even know and were surprised to hear that their own governments had enacted policies that caused the deaths of thousands of asylum seekers.
Even here in Iceland, almost nobody has been talking about the fact that some of the far right populist parties have legitimately been talking about wanting to establish detainment camps to keep asylum seekers in.
This post is a few months old now, and the bit about Iceland is now outdated, because Alþingi (the Icelandic parliament) passed the bill approving the detention center for asylum seekers. It will be legal to handcuff and detain children there.

I would like to highlight their fundraiser because of the dire situation they are in. They are a family of 11 people, with many children at risk of diseases and illnesses due to the unsanitary conditions in Ghazzah and lack of access to clean water. Thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts. For nearly three years, you have stood beside my family through this devastating war. Your kindness has helped me support them as they have endured life in tents, unimaginable hardship, and the constant fear of bombardment and death.

Now, FINALLY!!!, There is HOPE ...
I have been informed that my family’s evacuation is expected to take place in August. However, the Irish Embassy and the Department of Justice require us to show sufficient funds in our bank account before family reunification visas can be issued for my wife and our four children.
Without these funds, we cannot complete the visa process, and my wife and children will remain in Gaza, where their lives are in constant danger from bombing, starvation, and the devastating conditions they face every day. Even worse, my elderly parents, siblings and their children entirely depend on funds I send them in the incredibly harsh conditions they live!
We lost our home and everything we had in this hellish war and all my wife and children have right now is a tent in the living hell of Gaza.
My Irish college is providing the necessary supporting documents, but we urgently need your help to meet the financial requirement for them to be able to start a new life in Ireland.

My family is being torn apart, piece by piece. While my wife and children have finally been granted family reunification visas, my elderly and sick parents, my three brothers, and my five sisters are still trapped in Gaza, waiting and hoping for their chance to escape.
The applications of my parents, brothers, and sisters have been put on hold by the Irish authorities, who have asked me to provide evidence that I can financially support them when they are evacuated to Ireland.

Bshaer and Ayla have had a horrible few months. After finding a shell of a building in which to shelter from the elements, it was destroyed by IOF bombing.
