why are you always bitching about cis women having boundaries and not cis men who are the ones who are statistically far more likely to murder you? god forbid women don't spend all their emotional labor on centering you 24/7. go after the transphobic politicians or something, those are the actual fascists who want you dead.
those "boundaries" get us murdered lol. trans women who can't access women's shelters or other forms of housing because of cis women's "boundaries" are left on the streets to be assaulted and murdered
if you want trans women out of women's spaces, and the rationale for those spaces existing is to protect from violence, then you are saying that trans women don't deserve protection from the same violence despite being at an even higher risk of it than you
terfs have gotten crazy good at framing discrimination through the language of consent. systemic discrimination is not "boundaries"
the emotional labor of being asked not to discriminate against one of the most vulnerable groups of women

god israel's destruction of tyre is like especially depressing tbh like thats one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. people have lived there since the bronze age. there is so, so so much history and world heritage there that's being blown up and destroyed forever because its existence doesn't fit israel's nationalist vision of history.
lots to say about israel's politicized and propagandized use of history and archaeology to further their narrative tbh. here's a good article about it.

Racism in fandom spaces is actually insanely bad and if you ever try to downplay or avoid conversations about it because "fandom is supposed to be fun" then I'm not sorry to say this: You're adding on to the problem.
If POC speaking up about a fandom's racism issue offends you more than the racism itself, you need to think about that. You need to think about how POC fighting racism offends you more than the racism.
“Fandom is supposed to be fun” and how, pray tell, hypothetical but also real stranger, are the People of color in your fandom supposed to enjoy it when they are being subject to racist attacks and harassment?
Is your ability to ignore the presence of racism worth more than their ability to have fun? Because it’s not, and I hope you can learn that and do better by your POC fandom members.
me: im disabled and have limits
the smartest most intelligent guy in the world with the most hugest dick ever like so big, like the biggest dick ever, man and also soooo intelligent and thoughtful and just so so intelligent: have you tried pushing yourself?
from my own experience and also from what i hear from others, the issue seems to stem from a fundamental misunderstanding of how i know my limits. i know because i have discovered and tested them. i push them sometimes, carefully. and occasionally i get ok results or at least nothing bad happens. but sometimes something does happen, so i MUST respect my limits.
but when i talk about disability to abled people, they assume its just a bad attitude. like ive defaulted to a "i cant" attitude. and that stems from a fundamental mistrust of disabled people, and the cultural grift of acting like bad things can only exist in the mind. yes i know this is old news. anyways.

from June 1, 2026:
Chikei Rick Chow, 61, shot Cyrus Carmack-Belton in the back after chasing him from his convenience store in Columbia. He maintained he acted
A South Carolina jury on Monday found a store owner not guilty of murder in the 2023 shooting of a Black 14-year-old. Chikei Rick Chow, 61, who is Asian, shot Cyrus Carmack-Belton in the back after chasing him from his convenience store in Columbia, but maintained he acted to defend his son. The killing sent waves of anguish and grief through the African American community in Richland County, where nearly half the population is Black. After the verdict was read, sobs and cries of distress could be heard coming from Carmack-Belton's family seated in the gallery. Chow sat silently frozen before slowly bowing his head onto his interlocked hands. [...] "This case is not about a shoplifter. This case is about a father who sees a gun pointed at his son and had to make a decision," defense attorney Shaun Kent told jurors during closing arguments. The defense attorney said Andy Chow testified that Carmack-Belton pointed a gun at him. Prosecutors acknowledged Carmack-Belton had a semiautomatic pistol, but they say it fell on the ground during the chase, and he never threatened anyone with it. Prosecutors said Chow chased the teen more than 130 yards from the store. There was no indication that the teen and Chow had a fight in the store before Carmack-Belton ran away, Richland County Coroner Nadia Rutherford said at the time. She also confirmed the teen died from a gunshot wound to the right lower back, "consistent with someone who was running away." [...] Gipson said multiple witnesses testified that they didn't see anything in Carmack-Belton's hands and didn't see him point a gun as he ran from the store. "Nobody testified that happened that doesn't have the last name Chow," Gipson said.
The family of Cyrus Carmack-Belton expressed their indignation towards a jury’s decision to acquit Chikei Rick Chow in the 2023 fatal shooti
“Yesterday a jury watched our 14-year-old boy run away from two grown men on video. They knew one of them shot him in the back and they still said no one is to blame,” the family said in a statement first released to ABC News. “We are heartbroken. We do not accept it. Cyrus stole nothing. He was a child, and he was running for his life. Our son mattered.” [...] “To everyone hurting with us: honor Cyrus in peace. We will not stop. We’re taking this fight to civil court, and we will not rest until our son’s life is given the dignity this verdict denied him,” the family added. According to family attorney Todd Rutherford, the family filed a civil lawsuit against Rick Chow in Richland County, which was put on hold until the conclusion of the criminal case.

I have to ask, why does the Genshin fandom laser-focus on aesthetic/surface-level things about a character or situation that got backlash and end up missing some of the most massive elephants in the room?
Like why Paimon has detractors: people will go in circles about how it must’ve been her English dub voice making her sound ruder, her repeating things for the player to hear, etc. But absolutely nothing about how since debut she’s spoken exactly like a prejudiced suburban Karen and judged people based on ableist, classist and racist stereotyping.
Or with Godwin’s situation, how people were debating whether he was irresponsible for ditching his mission, or relatable for “losing something on the way to work” and that people should stop hating on him. This misses the massive issue, from the start, of a grown man placing more importance on his shame and ego than the well-being of everyone around him, to the point he ditched his public service job and girlfriend and still made things all about himself and his shame when it was finally addressed five years later, and learns jack shit.
Or how people laser focus on the moment of Diluc and Kaeya’s fight but not on how much pressure Mondstadt had put on Diluc or Kaeya’s longstanding, pre-adoption generational trauma before that night, or how they were thrown into two opposite circumstances after the fact and how that affects how they navigate the world around them.
Or how people will go “Why isn’t Noelle a Knight yet? She’s so strong and chivalrous!” when it’s clear that having traits that look good on paper doesn’t make you a fitting candidate for a job if you’ve been shown to go overboard despite good intentions, and that’s the very understandable reason Jean keeps rejecting her applications. That being said, there’s still an issue with how Jean or other knights won’t communicate that to her so Noelle keeps assuming that it’s her not being good or helpful enough, so while there’s an issue there it’s NOT the fact that Jean keeps rejecting her despite having a strong resume.
Or how people will do mental gymnastics to try and justify the Traveler’s behavior in Fontaine when acting cold towards Lyney and Lynette for being Fatui is awfully weird right off the heels of watching a literal Harbinger (Wanderer) be capable of change for the good despite his background, and having a friendly interaction shortly prior with one who’s had a relatively worse criminal record (Childe) than two kids who had been exploited and had very few outside connections (and the Traveler’s cold behavior might’ve made that even worse). And regardless of who you sided with during Furina’s trial, it does nothing to justify them treating her like the same brat a few weeks later after knowing the truth about her.
Maybe it’s me thinking from a writer’s standpoint, but it feels like people get so focused on theories and big lore plot (TM) that a lot of this kind of stuff gets reduced to the surface level - which is counterproductive because these small things are the very reason theories and characters’ lore have any ground to stand on to begin with. Like…just really think about this stuff before jumping to the most stereotypical assumption.
I genuinely don't think it matters if parents love their kid or not, honestly. It truly doesn't matter, as love is just an emotion, and your emotions truly do not matter when it comes to the wellbeing of other people. Your actions do.
It doesn't matter how much love you have for your kid, how much you just wanted to protect them and give them the best life they could... if you abuse them, you abused them. If you hit your kid, screamed at your kid, sexualized your kid, and you take 0 accountability for it because you love them, you are no better than a parent that despises their child or doesnt care for their child and does the same thing. As they like to say, facts do not care about your feelings. Harm is still harm when it comes from a loving heart.
Actually there's no such thing as harm coming from a loving heart. Love and harm do not coexist. Thank you.
This literally just isn't true. Like at all.
@child-abuse-survivors
Not only this is not true, thinking in that way is many times what makes an abuser keep abusing their victim. "I love them, so I can't possibly be harming them". Bad actions don't just come from bad intentions, and in order to be a better person, you need to acknowledge that. But that is scary, because then you are acknowledging that you too are never above hurting people. You too will hurt people, just like everyone, and we must accept that if we ever want to become better people

You ever think about how old people have no idea what “survivor bias” is, and take full credit for being excellent out of things where they lucked out?
“Back in my day we didn’t have any of these childhood protective things, we were smart enough not to do stupid shit on our own!” Except your little neighbour, who got the funniest idea at the age of seven, and got his skull pierced when he slipped?
“Back in my day nobody got divorced, we stuck together and fixed our problems!” What about your cousin, who was slowly killed by her husband because she had nowhere to escape him?
“Back in my day nobody had ‘mental problems’, we didn’t whine, we just toughed it out and endured life!” Hey remember that guy you used to work with, who seemed really friendly and normal, and then suddenly hanged himself ‘for no reason’?
“Back in my day we didn’t have any of this ‘gay’ or ‘transgender’ thing.” You did, but your family cut all ties with her before you were born.
You kinda start seeing it in everything they think, if you start looking for it.
“When we were kids nobody whined about car seats or bike helmets. We didn’t use them, and we all survived!”
Yeah, except for the ones who didn’t.
War returned without any official announcement!
Death and shelling and casualties everywhere, and the mutilated bodies of children, and the evacuation and destruction of homes and the displacement of entire residential areas. Reconnaissance and combat aircraft and helicopters all the time, and targets in the streets and markets and the expansion of control zones.
Feelings of fear and anxiety.. and the terror of children returned quickly, after we had at least been in some kind of safety and calm, believing that all this had passed and ended.
All of this happens in silence, without announcement, without labels of "military operations" or "return of war," without statements.. and quietly.. without intervention or attempts or statements or pressures.
And thus we are left alone.. abandoned, being slaughtered, and the scene itself not even broadcast on screens because there are things more important.
