  Frenzy or Frenzy of Exultations, oil on canvas by Wladyslaw Podkowinski, Polish master artist and illustrator and part of Young Poland movement, 1866-1895.

  This painting was displayed to scandal and public outcry in 1894 in Warsaw, Poland, and later featured in another Warsaw art exhibit to more criticism which led the artist to slash it with a knife while it was on display. 

  The painting was restored after Podkowinski’s death from tuberculosis at the age of 28 and is now in the Sukiennice Museum in Krakow, Poland.
