Here is another contest submission, this time for a french website called Les Gameuses (aka girl gamers). The contest theme is simply to “draw a video game heroine” and the main ones (Zelda, Samus, Peach...) were already taken. I didn’t necessarily want to make a statement but I did want to avoid bikini armors or sexy kimonos, so after hesitating between Okami’s Amaterasu and Space Channel 5′s Ulala, I picked Animal Crossing’s villager. She’s badass, she’s got an axe, and I love the villager meme.

This is my quite literal take for an illustration contest with "la terre à crédit" / "earth on credit" as the theme. Not sure how well it translates in english, but in french it's a reference to climate change and the exhaustion of natural resources. The broader theme is "eco-citizenship", and the contest is held by a children book festival, so I tried to keep it hopeful & cute ! Hope you enjoy.

Logo design proposal on 99designs for Camperdown Program’s Trainers Consortium.

OK so, Camperdown Program is a treatment for stuttering in teenagers and adults. Their Trainers Consortium is where professionals meet, receive training and discuss the program.

 Sooo, I found stuttering to be a rather delicate subject to illustrate but I tried channeling the spirit of A King’s Speech and to keep things abstract and poetic.

 From my humble understanding, getting over stuttering is about creating mental processes (the orange cog in the head) to “avoid” stuttering. Thus, what we say and what we have in mind is the same (cog in head, same cog in speech bubble). And it allows us to share it with the world (speech bubble). And talk about how things work (cogs). CQFD.

Logo design proposal on 99designs for Securetech.

Well I think it looks great!

 I thought the shield idea was really cliché in the security domain, but it’s still a great idea, I don’t think there’s another great icon for the idea of protection...

So I really wanted to avoid 90s software metal effects, also I thought the curve of the shield should be sturdy, simple, essential. I tried to give it a flat design kind of vibe with that clear cut, diagonal shadow.  I think it looks smooth.

The food items were fun, I’m very happy with how the meat and fish came out. “Fresh” was difficult. How do you represent freshness ? Here’s my take on it.
