He was wrongfully raided by police in 2022

He used footage and names of the specific cops in posts, videos and songs making fun of them

The cops sued for defamation and cried in court about the songs ruining their lives

His name was Alex Pretti. He was a 37 year old nurse who worked in the ICU of the VA hospital. He was a US citizen, born in Illinois, with no criminal record.

Alex was murdered by ICE for exercising his 1A rights to stand up for those who are having their 4A rights violated. He was lawfully carrying a firearm on his person, and peacefully maintaining his 2A rights, but never brandished his weapon or threatened violence. His last act before his life was needlessly taken was to help a nearby female protestor who ICE forcefully shoved to the ground. Alex was then sprayed in the face, tackled by a group of six or more agents, beaten repeatedly in the head with a blunt object, disarmed of the pistol that was still sitting in his waistband while covering his face with his hands, and then he was shot a minimum of 5 times, killing him on the spot. [...] He posed no threat to them.

It is not a crime to lawfully carry a pistol in an open carry state, and it is not a justification for murder.

Don't believe the lies the DHS and this administration are trying to spread. Watch the videos. Trust what you're seeing and what you're feeling, not what they're trying to tell you. Your integrity is worth more than your loyalty to any one person or cause.

You can clearly see an ICE agent pick up his legally owned firearm before another unloads his gun into Alex.

This was an unjustified murder in broad daylight and the administration are trying to cover it up.

Spread these videos far and wide. They are already lying and calling him a terrorist.

A fun but admittedly petty thing I do is when I see a post on social media where someone is saying “God bless Trump!! Pray for Trump!!”and suchlike, I comment, “Amen! Psalm 109:8-17!” And depending on the platform I’ll get likes/hearts/prayer hands emojis etc. but I’ve been doing this for months and so far no one has actually read the verse, I don’t think. Lol.

In 1933, German conservatives thought they could control Hitler. Two years later, they were being executed in their own homes. I spent weeks researching this question, desperately looking for counter-examples, for hope, for any time in history where people successfully stopped fascists after they started winning elections. Here's what I found: Once fascists win power democratically, they have never been removed democratically. Not once. Ever.

So let's stop pretending we're in the "prevention" phase and start talking about what you do when fascists already control the institutions but haven't fully consolidated power yet. Because historically, nobody's been here before, not like this.

No wealthy democracy with nuclear weapons has ever fallen to fascism. The 1930s examples everyone cites were broken countries. Weimar Germany was weakened by World War I and hyperinflation. Italy was barely industrialized. Spain was largely agrarian. They didn't have the world's reserve currency. They didn't have thousands of nukes. They didn't have surveillance technology that would make the Stasi weep with envy.

America has all of that. Plus geographic isolation that makes external intervention impossible. Plus a population where 30-40% genuinely wants authoritarian rule as long as it hurts the "right people." The historical playbook is useless here. We're in unprecedented territory.

But that also means the old rules about what's possible might not apply.
