I went to a Christianity Explored course at my local church, which is of the Anglican denomination. I was surprised at how literally they took the bible.

I struggled to talk on their wave length, as they insisted on discussing the trivial parts of the gospels and seem to have already accepted that these things were true without question and without thinking about the who, what, when, why, where with regards to where these texts have come from.

This was not enough for me to lay down my whole belief system on something that has so many question marks about it. Leaders of the group say that they, too, had many question marks.

I spoke with family about it and its roots in paganism was mentioned. As a lead that might help explain my questions, I typed 'pagan roots in Christianity' into YouTube and this video answered all of my questions. Just like that.
