Law was not prepared to be chewed out. He had agreed to examine someone who had walked by, asking if anyone knew he was a doctor. He was too close by his workplace, so he had agreed, reluctantly, just in case there was observation.
It was just a simple cold. He had listened to the medicine the man wanted-- and that was not medicine for a cold. He presumed it was foolishly assigned, and it had gotten addicting, so he had tried to obtain more. Being turned away from the original doctor, he went searching for another who could provide it.
So, Law rejected the request, and was going to send him on his way. After being paid for the check-up and use of supplies of course.
It didn’t work out that way. The man frothed and raged-- how dare he turn him away! He had valid symptoms! He deserved to be assigned the medicine! Law had calmly refuted each and every claim, quite grateful he was the only one present at the time-- the others were out doing work or daily lives. He had only dropped by to drop off documents he’d taken home to refine.
So there he was, stuck at the front desk, being yelled at by a man who did not wish to accept no-- and getting spittle on his clothing and face. Usually, just narrowing his eyes and frowning was enough to intimidate people away-- learning he was a doctor must have removed all levels of threat from the man’s mind.
Shame-- if this continued, perhaps he should start applying his Devil Fruit. It was quite successful at persuading people.
