I made this film analyse a view weeks ago. The film will be screened at Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) and Festival international du film d'animation d'Annecy. On Kilian Vilims blog you can already watch a teaser.

If they hear him, they would also see him immediately.
I made this walk cycle without references, just on the basis of the last one. I’m not satisfied about it and will try to find references to get a more diva-like walk.
I hope it’s getting easier at some point... I’ll do the same walk again over the weekend.
Another one of these oraculous people... What do they want from me?
Weird dude is walking on my screen... very weirdly.
This is a sketch of a virtual popstar I designed for the innovation lab of a motion capturing pilot project with the ZHdK (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste). Our group of animators from Luzern work together with students from Film, Game Design and Contemporary Dance. We approach to define a world where each discipline can find a unique way to express themselfs with a project and probabely find intersting cross over possibilities. In the end there will be an exposition with all the different products.
My character is inspired by HATSUNE MIKU, a japanese virtual popstar that fills concert halls: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhYaX01NOfA
In my idea she could be the NPC in an arcade hall game like DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION. It would give the Game Designers the possibility to develop cool new and suffisticated game mechanics with full body motion capture data. (The classic DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION game is limited on the buttons on the floor.)
The Contemporary Dancers can come up with a game player supporting choregraphy. A completely different approach to there normal dance studies, working hand in hand with the Game Designers.
For the film departement the theme of the asian pop business opens up a diversity of unprocessed themes. Is it normal to go to a concert with no real artist, but only a digital character? Can it be improfed as an artificial intelligence? Is it possible for an artificial intelligence to make art? Where are the limits? But also a topic is the asian pop business itself. They singers and dancers stand under very hard contracts. For exemple they are not allow to go on dates, as this video shows: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-35368705
I was also insoired by the fact that there is a world inside the game, where the game characters interact and an outside world where we, the players are. And probabely there would also be an interaction between this two worlds. In Japan many men don’t have time for a real girlfried, so they have already virtual girlfried. What if, the player falls in love with the NPC AI. The movie Wreck-It Ralph inspired me to think in this direction. Watch the trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87E6N7ToCxs
And here are more sketches of my process to find an outfit for my character. I call her Arcadia. I wanted to make a bit of a punk out of her just to imply, she could be rebelling against her determination, to be only an NPC in a video game. How long will it go until AI’s fight for there rights?
Here is a little photo series I made recently. Wasn’t too sure, if it fits to my blog, but then I thought ‘so what’ and here is it anyway. The sun came out only once or twice this winter. I tried to catch the mood and added also some night shots.
I started to write a short story and ended up drawing a picture of me trying to write a short story. Does anybody feel with me?
At least I could gain some experience with digital drawing, where I’m not very experienced.
For those who enjoy random visuals, this is the most random in the whole internet. It's as random as seq5cQV3'WBQÖKBJ W41.

Look at my brand new digital business card. Contact me, if you need something like this too. I’ll make it with much pleasure!
Say hello to Captain Artilleg! It’s been a while since you’ve heard from him. The sea was rough and stormy during the last months but over new year the wind died down and our captain had time for a photo shooting for us.
After a short holiday break I’m back at school. I really enjoyed making this little animation. It was a very intuitive process: Once the ball had a direction to roll, I added the path elements until the ball finally found his way back to the start. The animation of the physcis still looks a bit sloppy sometimes. I’d love to work with real physics in the future to make some nice simulations.
CGI started two days ago and that’s actually a pile of specially duplicated spoons I created in Maya. Looks like something... I think.
Oh, and there’s this very important banana project I’m working on. It’s very complicated, that’s why I won’t bore you with technical details about the very sensitive dimensions of a banana.
It’s a room and there are lights and and stuff and for some reason there is a hole in the ceiling. Why would anybody but do that? – I don’t know. But the next time I will model an Emmentaler cheese from the very beginning.
LUZIFREL
Just looked at an idea for an animation series I made up. What do you think about it? Do you have aditional ideas or open questions?
Some impressions of the tiny three weeks Stop Motion Project we are doing right at the moment. I really enjoy working in the group with Igor Kuzic and Marie-Christine Kenov. They do amazing, precise and tastefull work.
I designed the Metal-Man and did on my own the final storybord you can quickliy see in the video hanging on the wall. But I also helped Igor with the really big setting and made a wood and wire skeleton for Marie. She was responsilbe for the Paper-Woman.
But enough, I have to run down to help animating! There are still so many undone scenes...
