Welcome to my blog

Hi! This is my main blog, my side blog where you'll find the stuff I reblog and want to show off that isn't directly related to conlanging, worldbuilding, or my work here. This is the main blog, and from Aug 13 2022 is exclusively used for my conlang work, Ðusyþ Wotd, and worldbuilding.

I'm not going to be deleting any of my reblogs from here previously.

I used to do Ðusyþ Word of the Day here but I've discontinued it because I just don't like Ðusyþ very much anymore :P. It's from several years ago so that's natural.

This blog is now just mostly for any conlanging and worldbuilding bits I'm willing to share :)

biîbi, a common, versatile, and challenging particle.

In case the below description isn't super clear, biîbi can serve two primary purposes:

as a small clause before another word, provides the listener a "heads-up" about information regarding the following discussion. it's used to flag incidental or additional information that is still important but not important enough to warrant a full clause

as a conjunction, indicates additional or follow-up information contextualising the previous clause

I did read through the paper! It's quite intriguing and the hypothesis they put out is rather convincing... though I do have a few questions on things like the dating of the structures (which they do partially acknowledge is currently limited) and survivorship bias, given that most of Earth around the equator during the time period they discuss was ocean, and the southern hemisphere undergoing glacial erosion that could obscure structures (which they also do partially acknowledge).

I exaggerated the rings for artistic effect, but in reality they would have been quite faint.

i love it so much. as opposed to the other CCC languages this conlang knows how to be cursed while still being good and creative. the presentation is also epic

Ðusyþ is based in a world of my own creation, here's the country in which it is spoken (unfinished map and low-res image)

Not done with ocean crust for 1250 mya yet but there's some complex shenanigans going on! Everything is coming back together ready to slam into the next supercontinent. But not yet ;)

Sample sentences demonstrating the Hašnic construct form, a sort of nominaliser on the verb that allows the verb to take case suffixes for converb functions, serve as relative clauses, and more; though still syntactically a verb! It cannot be dropped from the sentence like nouns, can still take verbal clitics, and cannot be clefted like nouns or take adjectival or NP modifiers.

what do you call the inbetween text between the english sentences and the fully translated sentences with all the capitals and dashes and stuff? i've been trying to look it up, but i can't think about what it's called
