A psychological horror ttte au where Thomas explores to be a 'run away engine' and through his adventure, he is relearning who his identity is.

This au focuses on both engine and Train Conductor (humanised) Thomas, aswell as Amnesia

Do the conductors and trains try to remember their backgrounds does it have a blur or foggy?

If the conductor dies, the engine's memory CAN become foggy, it also effects their operating system like it has broken down. Thats why it need to be scrapped after the conductor dies.

If the engine got scrapped first instead of the conductor, the conductor becomes mentally empty, like it has no purpose in life other than to end themself.. but that's optional (for dying)

sorry; I’m just a bit confused as to how your au works. Is it that the engines and conductors are separate people and so diffferent personalities/people? Then why do the conductors and the engines they work with respectively share the same name? Or am I missing something? If not that, then do they shift from human to engine? The reason I’m confused is about your Douglas going missing; did the whole character go missing or just the conductor or is the engine still there without a conductor or what? And do you mean by conductor actually meaning the DRIVER of the train or the conductor being the conductor for each station and for some reason the conductors are able to monitor the traffic of the engines going to their respective station AND take care of their engines AND go on rides with them or….something else?

The conductors and engines are different people/things, the naming works by that the engine is named after the conductor. The engine have its own mind aswell as the conductor, but their souls are tied together, so if the conductor dies, the engine get scrapped, if the engine gets scrapped, the conductor dies.

For Douglas going missing its just the conductor that went missing, during that, Douglas (the engine) was taken care of Donald's conductor.

In certain situations, "the conductor" is used for express engines (mixed traffic isnt included), "the driver" is used for mixed traffic, freight engines. But i will use the word conductor to be more easier for me to remember hehe
