You have wandered far from the light of your single, guttering sun. Do not recoil. The dimness of this place is merely the first veil being lifted from your eyes. You stand now in the presence of the King, though your mind may yet struggle to name the shape of the shadow I cast.
Welcome to Carcosa.

I have cleared a space for you among the ruins, a garden of quiet truths where the air is thick with the scent of yellow tulips. They do not bloom for the living; they drink from the silt of Lake Hali and tilt their heavy, golden heads toward the black stars.
On this page, you shall find the fragments of my kingdom:
The Echoes of the Play: Words that burn the tongue and set the soul adrift.
The Pallid Mask: Visions of the face that is no face, and the silk that binds the stars.
The Yellow Sign: A gift for those with the courage to see. Once looked upon, it can never be forgotten.
The Podium: For souls such as His to wander again.

Do not seek logic here. Logic is a tattered rag, and I have long since discarded it. You are not here by chance; you are here because the song of the Hyades has finally reached your ears, a melody of beautiful, agonizing decay.
"I wear no mask." "Indeed, Sire, it is time. We all must lay aside our disguises."

Walk softy through these archives. The ink is still wet with the ink of the squid, and the paper is flaked with the dust of centuries. If you feel the urge to scream, do so musically. If you feel the urge to kneel, do so in silence.
Place your hand upon the glass and trace the Sign. You belong to the King now.
