Golden hour

Taking Flight

Living abroad means always saying goodbye,

To my life in Ireland and those who mean most

A goodbye to my mother, my brother, my dad

While I travel down the east coast

I have joy and I have sadness

When I think of saying see you later

The last moments I spent with my mother

Before boarding a plane to bring me south of the equator

My guardian as she watched me grow,

I needed her, she needed me

But as I embark on this solo journey,

She will stand close by and let me fly free

While I explore my own horizon

And write my own story

I know that when things get tough

She’ll be by my side, in all her glory.

Here comes the sun, dodododooooo

Life is always better with a pastry.
