I keep wanting to post about femmes not having to be hyperfeminine but it might be a āwrong messengerā situation lol
like I keep seeing āIām not masc or fem Iām more like Thisā and itās a collage or edit of quite feminine women/characters that are maybe edgy, alternative, or outspoken. none of these things are even unfeminine?? look at pictures of self-identified femmes from the 80s or 90s, they are not necessarily hyperfeminine or traditionally feminine. because femme as a lesbian label isnāt about being as feminine as possible š
but tbh itās also because butch/masc/fem(me) are being buzzword-ed and aesthetic board-ed to hell and back⦠and young people want to feel a sense of belonging to a certain label or community. I just wish I could show all these young (I assume) lesbians some older lesbian literature and photography, they would see femmes with shaved heads, body hair, etc
