Hey guys, I decided to make a Gravity Circuit AU inspired by something that I found a few days ago!
And this is the something in question!
Yo mama
This is the original version of the opening stage theme of Gravity Circuit which was made in about 2014 or so and was uploaded onto SoundCloud in 2020. I stumbled upon this music track when I was messing with the GC Discord server search bar about three or so days ago, and I fell in love with it ever since.
To the point that it actually inspired me to make an AU based on older stuff that was made during the development of Gravity Circuit!
And while the AU had no name when it was first conceptualized, it is this day that I decided to give it a name: Cyber_Proxy!
The story of Cyber_Proxy revolves around Kai, as he investigates a problem with his PC that was caused by something or someone, with his attempt at fixing the problem causing a disastrous chain of events that involve him getting turned into a robot and being violently sent to the Cyber Galaxy (yes I kinda made an Astro Renaissance reference), a digital/cyberspace-esque world mainly inhabited by robots of all kinds as well as similar beings.
And yes, the design of his robot form is based on an earlier design that canon Kai had during Gravity Circuit's development! (Pictured below)
Likewise, during his journey to getting to the bottom of his current situation by way of fighting against various hostile entities and saving people caught in the crossfire, he will make new friends, enemies, and, perhaps, even those who will help him in his plans! If he decides to spare and help them in some way, of course.
It also has a oneshot currently in the works named Application Not Responding!

I'm not finishing this one. It was cooler in my head, I don't know what else to do with it but I put too much time into it to not at least throw it out here
Remembering past things I did in fics is weird, cause I have no clue why I did them anymore.
Like, why did I make Thad a robot made by Khan to keep the colony safe and then have hundreds of copies of him, just so I could write Thad dying in every single chapter as a gag?

Some people who like to call themselves "critics" do nothing but hatefully bash shows with next to no forethought. I am not that, so we're going to start with what I liked.
Of the bat, the animation was incredible, and I didn't expect any less! The colors and effects work I want to point out especially as we haven't really gotten anything of that caliber since Murder Drones, I'd even argue, as a Murder Drones fan since DAY ONE, that this is far superior. The animators have come so far and I'm so happy to have seen it with my own eyes.
One of those scenes where I can see the animators blood, sweat, and tears, is The Caine Scene. And after rewatching it yesterday I can also really appreciate the writing of said scene. (yes I am going to ignore the elephant in the void, I'll get to it later)
I originally didn't quite understand it when I saw it in theaters, but now I finally get it. It's a flashback interspliced with the present, showing Caine first accessing the brain scans and creating the circus, and Caine now using those same abilities to access the internet. I love it, I really really do. But I am a critic and... well, part of that is acknowledging the problems. There are a few, but one of them far overshadows the rest.
2: The Bad, or more accurately, The Jax
Jax. Jax is The Problem. Mainly, Jax took to much. It feels like the entire episode revolves around him. Matter of fact, I don't think I can name 4 moments that don't. Let's see... The conjuring scene, The Caine Scene, The end credits... Yeah I genuinely can't think of anything else.
You might be saying "What's so wrong with that? He's a main character." and you'd be right, in that he's a main character. What's wrong with it is that he is entirely unlikeable. He is cruel and shows zero redeeming qualities until we see his early memories, and no, being sad is not a redeeming quality. His falling out with Ribbit is unnatural and purely Jax's cruelty. He is endlessly coddled by the story, and it expects us to feel bad for him when he has done nothing to deserve it.
And the part that pisses me off most?
They don't have the balls to actually make him trans. They give him a song, a cute interaction with Ribbit, and a maid dress mockery.
3: Other Critiques (Caine's revival, The Controversies)
Ok, so, Caine straight up didn't die. They're pretending he did, but he didn't. I wouldn't be upset about this if they did it creatively or gave it any noticeable consequences, but they didn't. He- they- *sigh* I'm really struggling to put into words how... lazy this is. He didn't get deleted at all, he just got fuckin teleported!
On the topic of Caine, this might be my absolute pettiest "critique" I've ever given, but as a believer in all the Abel/Bubble theories, I hate how they did the blue AI. It seems like they used it just as a quick way to speedrun Caine's development by having him literally just pull out the angry part of himself. They don't even give it a separate name.
I don't have a transition to talk about the controversies, and I don't really want one. I believe people can change, but I am not in any position to forgive. If I was, I honestly don't think I would forgive them. It's bad, that is all I can say on Ashley and Michael.
On GOOSEWORX however, I will say that her negligence has played a direct part in the fandom being how it is now and can be learned from. Her past actions were also weird but I can't take anything meaningful out of it other than... don't... don't do that.
This show was a wonderful learning experience and a great watch, I still like it, but I think I'm ready to move on. I hope you found my thoughts entertaining or maybe even inciteful, thank you so much for reading and have a wonderful day.
I think Jax was fine, honestly. I don't really get where people think the show was trying to make us think Jax's good, because to me it was just just "He's an asshole, here's why" and nothing more.
I think this because nothing that happened in his life isn't, at least a little bit, his own fault, and his fate represents that. He could have gone for help, but chose to stay secluded and that made him abstract. It's the perfect ironic ending for his character, if not for Pomni genuinely seeing a person to save instead of a lost cause, like everyone else.
Aw for Caine, I was confused too on why he just got teleported too, but I guess it has to do with everything that gets deleted goes to the void, so that would apply to him too. Because it's more like a trash bin, where you need to delete them inside it for them to be gone. At least that's how I understood it.
As for bubble and the 2° AI, I did expect it to play a bigger role, but I don't see an issue with it not doing, since it was never hinted at being anything more than just that, a generative AI. Caine's the one that corrupted and went rogue. I'd even go as far as to say that the only reason Abel, just to give it a name, is angry, because that's the only thing Caine has fed it ever since their merging. Although this is all headcannon.
Recently got into Gravity Circuit and my multishipper brain can only think of one thing.
1 - Kurse (Kai/Nurse)
I think their relationship would grow more as Kai gets hurt in missions and has to be patched. This would cause Nurse to be more and more worried over him, while Kai just jokes with her. That blossoms into a relationship.
2 - Bitley (Bit/Medley)
Yes, I'm a basic bitch. I think these two would have a friendly/flirty rivalry thing going on. Always competing, always seeing eachother.
3 - Crashim (Crah/Prim)
I think that Crash's calm nature would attract Prim, whom would paint his arms, since they are so big. The two would have a calm relationship where they just enjoy each other's presence.
4 - Trash (Trace/Hash)
These two would be Bitley but extreme. They genuinely have a rivalry going on where they can get aggressive, but it leads to them having moments too heated for just enemies. They are closer than they say they are.

The final Showdown between the brothers.
I love Jax's part and his story. The visuals are so cool and good. His personality is perfectly flawed. Love how he could have the perfect life, but he's so messed up from the past that he threw everything in the trash. I wasn't expecting him to stay abstracted though, but I'm happy he did, cause if Pomni had brought him back, it would kinda invalidate the abstraction of the others and make Caine much worse.
Loved how Pomni and Ragatha got back together. Wish there was more focus on Zooble and Gangle, but they're okay. Liked that sex joke at the end though.
Kinger, as always, the goat. Kept Pomni stable and fucking ruled. Goat.
Caine's scenes at the Void are so cool and I love it. Wish it lasted a little longer, but it's fine as it is. Portrays fine what they wanted. Really liked that he was still a "good" person. Wanted more of Moon and Caine though.
And for last, the ending. It's a bit cliche, but I love it anyway. Having everyone be just a copy of the brains and not actually the people is pretty cool. Loved to see what they became in real life, and although it was pretty corny that everyone went to have incredible lives, I can't help but like it.
The final scenes in the circus with everyone changing and shit. It hit hard.
