Some screen grabs from NBC Bay Area/KNTV during a day of special reports following a 6.0 earthquake in Napa, California. The earthquake occurred Sunday 24 August 2014 at 3:20 AM PDT. At least 200 people were treated for injuries at Queen of the Valley Medical Center where one is in critical condition and a 13 year old was airlifted to another trauma center.

Here are a few screen grabs from the NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) graphical package for the Barclays Premier League. The first two screen grabs are from the Leicster City v. Everton match played at King Power Stadium during week one. The third and fourth screen grabs show the match where Everton hosted Arsenal at Goodison Park during week two. When the game is aired live the score ticker at the bottom of the screen is absent leaving only the NBC logo and the score box in the upper right hand corner. Now because the BPL can have up to eight matches broadcast simultaneously NBC offers cable and satellite providers eight different feeds for each match. Normally up to four marquee matches get the full NBC graphical treatment due to technical limitations. The remaining matches use the host feed provided by the league as is illustrated by the fifth image showing West Ham United v. Tottenham Hotspur during week one.

Surely there's a better way to get live tweets on the air than taking a computers output and masking the picture to show the latest tweets. An organization of SkyNews size should have graphics equipment with social media integration.

I did not take this screen capture from the launch MSNBC's high definition feed. Initially MSNBC was going to letter box their day part programming by adding extra information in the HD wing much like what CNBC HD + does and going full screen during primetime. However this plan was quickly abandoned almost two months later and the day part is presented in full HD.
