Camburn et al. conclude that, âPrototyping often predetermines a large portion of resource deployment in development and influences design project successâ (2017, p.1).
After uploading three videos on my YouTube Channel, I keep prototyping and ideating with the way my content is produced, through the feedback loop I receive by my viewers. My main goal still remains the same, bringing people (cultures) together through TV shows. We all know America is the biggest industry when it comes to entertainment, but they are other countries out there that broadcast shows too, Iâm planning through this DA that they will be come to light for the whole world to see through recommendations. How do I get recommendations you may ask, well itâs simple, comments, word of mouth, on TV shows I have not seen. This may be hard because getting views on my Channel seems to be decreasing, getting a recommendation on a show from Germany for example seems like a long shot now.
2nd Video on YouTube Channel Comments
As you can see with the picture above, are comments from my second video I uploaded on my channel, I was reviewing an Anime (Japanese Cartoon) show called, Attack on Titans. I got feedback like, âbetter than the first videoâ, maybe because my editing skills improved and the way I scripted the whole video. In this video I decided to include a clip of me reacting to an episode of the show, I was recommended after my first video to try and include reacting to the show iâm reviewing, I plan to keep this feedback throughout the rest of my videos. People enjoyed that part and it shows that iâm engaging with my viewers with the content I show, my reactions are genuine and I think my viewers react the same way as I do when they see what I just saw.
Me Reacting to a clip from TV Show Attack on Titans
The other problem I have been getting is the views I am receiving like I mentioned earlier, my first video has almost 200 views were as my second and third video have barely passed 100 views. Most of my viewers were coming from Facebook, that meant my friends and family probably thought it was a one off thing, when they saw that I kept posting new content out there I barely get any likes, I have to figure out a way to get people to watch my videos. Whatâs the point of trying to start a conversation about a TV show, or bring people to be in the moment if no one sees my videos? My Digital Artefact is built on feedback thatâs the only way this DA can stay a float. If I donât get any views in my upcoming videos I would have to go back to the drawing board and Ideate something else to see what I can do, and thatâs the whole point of this project.
My First YouTube video Reviewing Bojack Horseman
My third video Reviewing Netflix Original Indian series Sacred Games
I am pretty excited with my third video, I was reviewing a show that wasnât American, It is Netflixâs original series from India. I enjoyed filming this one, because it made me learn something about the Indian culture, seeing their country and the people, including their depictions of the cops is astounding. What country doesnât have corruption though, am I right? I was glad I got recommended this show, because itâs a great watch binge worthy, itâs a crime/thriller and keeps you wanting more, I canât wait to see what they bring with season two.

With my YouTube audience Iâve found that I get more views from people who are not subscribed to my channel. The top most country that I get my views from is Australia, which is a downfall because my main point is to go global. I canât tell the age range of my viewers to which doesnât help as well. With Instagram I canât learn anything about my audience because I donât have 100 followers or more yet, I canât do anything about that. I donât really know what to post on my Instagram page other than letting people know that Iâve uploaded a new YouTube video.

After my first YouTube video my friends gave me feedback and recommended me to see some of their favorite YouTubers, like JuliDG, her YouTube channel includes videos of her mainly reacting to TV shows and she does it well, so I prototype my DA and incorporated reacting to shows in my videos, and people love it. Additionally I was recommended to see theneedledrop, he reviews music (albums) and I enjoyed the way he constructs his script, they are somewhat weird and funny, but the way it flows with every video is good and interesting, so I incorporated that in my other two videos which was great. Camburn suggest that, âThe ultimate goal of prototyping is to enhance performance and user experience of the final design. Iterative prototyping is strongly correlated with performance increase with regards to meeting difficult requirements. Parallel prototyping is also correlated with increased performance in terms of discovering new ideasâ (2017, p.24). Our channels are similar in a way because of what we do in our videos which is review/react to anything entertainment, but our goals are different in our own right, those YouTubers have found their niche and theyâve been doing this for a while, Iâm only starting and I canât wait to reach the point were I feel like Iâve somewhat succeeded my goal, Iâve been wanting to do this for a while and now that Iâve started the is no going back but forward, with the constant feedback loop I receive the more I improve and produce for the world to see.
