So, the Silence was able to turn Melody Pond into a time lady due to the fact that she was conceived in the TARDIS, and then they raised her to be an assassin. But also, the TARDIS she was conceived in was partially possessed by a giant omnicidal space dog.

This probably isn't true, but it would be really funny if some of Sutehk got into her, and her assassin training was actually teaching her to be LESS trigger-happy. Like, her first word were "I SHALL BRING DESTRUCTION AND DEATH TO ALL LIVING THINGS" and the Silence had to be like "no, sweetie, just the Doctor."

DW - Empire of death Midnight screening

So I just came from the midnight screening, not gonna give any spoilers, I still need to think about it. But about the screening itself, I figured I would get front seat cause I didn't want my view obstructed. Anywho, I ended up watching it next to THE DIRECTOR, THE AD, and H.ARBINGER herself. 🫣

So I think I figured out what Fifteen's problem is. Not as a flaw in the writing, mind. A flaw in the character.

Every New Who Doctor has been a reaction to the trauma of the Time War.

Nine raged

Ten ran

Eleven repressed

Twelve wallowed

Thirteen regressed

Fourteen finally admitted he had a problem and sought help.

And Fifteen, I'm certain now, relapses.

Fifteen started out doing great. All his trauma processed. Ready to face the world. And maybe at first it worked (though sadly we didn't get to see his many offscreen adventures with Ruby). But like... you don't stay better. You have to work at it. And he's very much not doing that.

There's a brittleness to his good cheer. Be it the gods of chaos, the loss of a lover, or his first real confrontation with racism, he doesn't deal with adversity very well. He breaks down, he hides, he acts like everything's fine. It's not fine though. He's not okay. He might've dealt with his problems, but he didn't equip himself with the tools needed to deal with new problems.

He's gonna crack eventually. We can already see it happening.

I love that Ruby just wakes up one day and decides to just bring down the Prime Minister and then goes on a years long stealth mission, where she only meets him once and single handedly stops him from creating nuclear Armageddon. Very Martha Jones coded of her.

Real talk though, Rogue seems like a sweetie and a bit shy, the way he was a little embarrassed at being a Kylie Minogue fan and clammed up at being the centre of attention creating a drama in front of people, but then his solution was to just quietly drop to his knee and propose and how emotional Fifteen got😭

Like I've seen people comparing him to Jack, but Jack is the opposite of this guy. Jack would've loved acting out a scandalous scene. If Jack Harkness dropped to his knees in front of the doctor in the middle of a ballroom full of Regency era people, it wouldn't be to propose
