From the Eclipse script, in which Edward intentionally provokes Jane and Carlisle has to step in to keep everyone from killing each other. The directions are the interesting part rather than the dialogue, which we mostly got in the movie. EDWARD Her name was Victoria… perhaps you knew her? Bree’s pain abruptly ceases. Jane faces Edward with an innocent smile that’s somehow unnerving. The other three Volturi are suddenly positioned behind Jane. We didn’t even see them move. Bella plants herself firmly at Edward’s side – she can’t protect him, but she can die trying. The air is tense. This could turn bad, fast. Carlisle intercedes with great and purposeful calm. CARLISLE (pleasantly) Edward, if the Volturi had knowledge of Victoria, they would have stopped her. Isn’t that right, Jane?

Jane just looks at Carlisle.

I think what really drew me in to twilight when I was a teenager is that, despite the epic vampire whirlwind romance, the teenagers actually do feel like they have REAL lives, and it’s a real shame that that doesn’t translate to the movies (bc a movie with pointless scenes of the main character making enchiladas & doing homework would be crazy boring). I like that Edward enjoys skipping class to sit in his car & listen to Linkin Park CDs, I like that Bella spends her weekends doing laundry and drafting her Macbeth essay, and on sunny days she lays out a blanket to read in her backyard. I like that she drives to her best friend’s house after school to watch him fix cars and do homework together, I like that they have joint family dinners that are just eating spaghetti on fold-out chairs on the deck. I like that her friend group piles in mike’s mom’s van to go hang out at the beach, and when she brings a camera to school they all start a “picture war.” I like that she has a part-time retail job and sits at the kitchen table filling out uni applications with her boyfriend. It definitely loses that quality around eclipse when the focus has to stay on the actual plot, but I like that twilight & new moon feel pretty grounded in what introverted lower-middle class small-town teenagers are actually doing.

the way that bella freaks out over the tour group being murdered by vampires like. ok, i get it she doesn't exactly want to be a monsterfucker she's just an edwardfucker and wants to be with him in any way possible. but like the fact that it doesn't at all cause her conflict in deciding to become a vampire a chapter later is uhhh... as aro would say... fascinating

Concept: Edward’s initial talk with Aro, requesting his own destruction. For one reason or another Jane turns her gift on Edward, but he doesn’t so much as flinch. Turns out spending so much time with his singer gave him a crazy high pain tolerance, but more importantly he’s like. dead inside at the moment thinking Bella’s gone

It’s not that he doesn’t feel Jane’s power at all. He is in an incredible amount of pain. He can simply handle it because really, what’s the point of throwing a torch into a dumpster fire that’s already raging?

Everyone in the room could already see his vibes were rancid, but this is something else

When he’s back in the throne room later with Bella and Jane attacks him when he tries to defend Bella from her, he drops like a rock and writhes just as he did in the book. The relief of having Bella alive and with him made room for more pain to affect him. Jane cackles

- Carlisle is stitching up Bella

& Esme is scrubbing the blood out of the carpet with bleach

- meanwhile Emmett is smoking a cigarette “just for funsies” and Alice decides to join him and they’re both just like “wow… we rly b in situations huh”
