The time they have actually spoken was short, not quite feeling safe but knowing if he began to panic it would be of no use. Link knows the answer. A reflection was no longer a must in order for him to listen to that other voice, that strange echo in his mind that could keep him awake late at night if not until morning. It had become familiar and every time it would still make the hero shiver, his heart beating quickly in his chest. He knows that question is unfair. How he missed home and his friends, his past life. When everything was calm and all he had to worry about was waking up early and making sure everything was okay.     “Please don’t do this now?”     Not now that he struggled to get some sleep. He’s tired, has been restless for the past few weeks and even after all shadow pieces were collected, Link’s mind was still not at peace.     “I just want to sleep...”     Of course, the loneliest would be himself. It’s why he doesn’t like that question.

Those things exist? That must be some kind of joke. But the hero doesn’t question it. Too bad he couldn’t keep it, it was a nice blade he had found by chance. He thinks, how would he feel if he loses one of his weapons? The ones he needed so much during his adventure. To survive, to get through the nights. Even when he sighs feeling disappointed that he could not keep it, he still hands it over to the stranger.    “It’s a nice knife. It must be useful...”     Like the million and one ideas he had thought about already since finding it on the ground. That doesn’t stop him from looking after others rather than himself, selfless and perhaps irresponsible considering the amount of danger he’d put himself in. He gets close, blood didn’t bother him anymore, it’s become a frequent sight and the stranger’s wound was luckily not yet infected.     “Let me take care of it.”     The least he could do. Not to mention a distraction from his own thoughts was always good.

Val says. I finally got a free weekend! Lately my days off have been spotty or I had to work half a shift, so I had no energy to be here. I’ll get to stuff in a bit. My next solid days off are during Christmas but since that’s family time I doubt I’ll be around much. For now, I write!
