So this is my first tattoo. A quote from the book ‘the bell jar’ by Sylvia Plath. The book revolves around the protagonist’s journey with depression. Sylvia Plath herself, battled depression and committed suicide at the age of 31. To me, this quote is a reminder of my value. I am a daughter, I am a grandaughter, I am a sister, I am a niece, I am a cousin, I am a girlfriend, I am a friend, I am creative, I am clever, I am caring, etc. I am more than any bad feeling or bad situation that I have experienced/will experience in my life. As someone who faces anxiety, low mood and lack of confidence, this is an important thing to remember. Plath also uses this quote as a literary device, called Iambic Pentameter. If you say it out loud, it mirrors the sound of a heartbeat. As long as my heart is beating, I’ll be okay. With everything that’s happening in my life at the moment, I thought I’d share this with you all. It makes me sad that when people ask and I tell them that it’s a quote from one of my favourite books, they snigger. Love u all & thank you for reading this x

I haven't been active for so long. Since I was last active, I've finished my Alevels, gotten into university to do adult nursing and so much more crazy, wonderful things have happened, but I promise that I'm going to be more active from now on. Love to you all, x
Of course, you never really forget anyone, but you certainly release them. You stop allowing their history to have any meaning for you today. You let them change their haircut, let them move, let them fall in love again. And when you see this person you have let go, you realize that there is no reason to be sad. The person you knew exists somewhere, but you are separated by too much time to reach them again.

I always thought growing up that feminism was about women opposing men. It was just my assumption. But a year into studying sociology and exploring the world from a socialist point of view, I now understand that feminism is so much more than that. The whole idea of feminism inspires me more than words can say. One day I was talking about feminism with my mum. She told me how she believes a woman should take a mans name in marriage as a sign of respect. I told her I didn't agree because it gave a sense of ownership. She then told me how she's a feminist, to which I was really confused and asked her "how?". She replied by telling me how my stepdad is a feminist and that feminism is about believing in the need for equality and to move forward, not to be held back. I realised it is not about being better than others or being a 'man hater'. It's striving for equality. Since I have realised this, I've noticed how much women put other women down: "look at her... She's put weight on... Look at her makeup and her hair... Her clothes are hideous... She done this... She done that". It saddens me, because the world which we live in forgets that the only way we can reach peace is through helping others along. It is so true that we all walk the same path at some point in our lives. Not at one point can no woman or man say they've never felt insecure or down about themselves or inferior or not good enough, in some way or another. From this, I want everyone to not put others down but lift others up, no matter who they are. Forget about taking the power back. Strive to share the power amongst all. We all share the same world. Peace ✌️ #Spreadlove #standtogether #liveasone
realising feminism does not mean we should be the same as men, but rather
we should be whatever we want to be, don’t be ashamed that you like pink, or enjoy chick flicks or that you crave chocolate when you’re on your period. don’t stop wearing girly clothes and squashing down your femininity. WE DO NOT HAVE TO BE LIKE MEN.
we have to be accepted for the women we are. Yes to being a housewife, if you choose it. Yes to sleeping around, if you choose it. Yes to having a high powered job and no kids, if you choose it.
Don’t morph yourself to be men. Allow yourself to appreciate the you that you are. There’s nothing wrong with being feminine, make it your power not your weakness.
