Hey guys, i'm back with more character reference material! this time it's for one of the Persona Digimon partners. for those who don't know, i crossed the two together waaaay back in the day and made my first OCs out of them. they were for P3 and P4, but i've since expanded to give partners to all of the protagonists (Maya not withstanding cuz like, i have yet to think of one for her. lol) Minato and Yu were actually turned into legit OCs rather than just using themselves, but for Alucard here, his partner's just straight up Naoya.

For these sketches, i wanted to draw what was underneath the hood, cuz he's got skrunkly 90s anime hair beneath that mask. lol

Other than that, his design is supposed to be very similar to Demon, due to him being his Mega stage. i thought it'd be cooler to separate him even further from your typical DemiDevimon, outside of the fact he uhh...well, he has a body. lmao

Oh no, no, but like, that's hilarious now that you told me. cuz like, he is just some guy.

I took the name from a video game, actually. it's the name of the mascot character from Tales of Xillia. nOW REMASTERED FOR MODERN PLATFORMS IF YOU EVER WANNA PLAY IT. but uhh...yeah. lol

Please tell me more about your Trapinch Tipo.

OK! apologies for taking so long to answer this, i've been working this week and i just haven't had energy to type on a keyboard. lmao

So like, it's been a long time since i thought of him, but from what i can remember, Tipo in the main series continuity is the baby of a member of one of the Gen III gang's Pokemon because one of them does get a Flygon at some point. Personality wise, he is babi. he's always hungry, very food oriented and chomps on anything he sees, sometimes just to bite cuz he just likes doing that. very chill, very carefree. in present day, i believe he's a Vibrava and is definitely more proactive because he's just a lot more energetic and flighty at that stage. still cute tho. .u.

He does exist as a PMD character too, but in the Rescue Team era as an extra party member that Lance and the rest of Team Solar meet along the way, having no bearing on the story itself. I believe he's part of his own rescue team in Pokemon Square, kind of a playful and cute meme team with Logan the Zigzagoon and one other Pokemon i can't remember off the top of my head. i hope this answer is sufficient cuz unfortunately, he's not a character i had developed as much as others. but i am glad you were curious about him. ;-;

I'm glad you found me! I've had this Tokoyami blog for years now. You caught me a little bit late, though :,) I just finished my massive Tokoyami fic, and the anime is over, so there's not much new content to look forward to. He's my favorite, though! And I have years of writing and drawings to look back on! Regardless, it's always good to find another Tokoyami fan!

YO what if Dark Shadow can form multiple limbs at once? Like he can form giant shadow hands and other limbs at any given opportunity? I always think about this and even better if Tokoyami is acting as the puppeteer too!

And maybe he can even replace Tokoyami's limbs if they're ever ripped off from his body as well?

Love stuff like this. I love drawing Dark Shadow as a big, goopy, amorphous monster. Having multiple limbs would add to that, both in a cool/creepy factor and just in terms of mobility/intimidation. My image here kinda has it looking like... the boar from Princess Mononoke? I've always been interested in treating Dark Shadow less like a structure physical form and more like a fluid mass subject to changes in form.

What you might have in mind could be something more functional in battle or during precarious events! Like, thinking about being able to form multiple limbs that can multi-task in difficult situations — maybe one set of claws can be defending against an opponent while another is working to save a civilian trapped under rubble. The way Dark Shadow can hover/fly is a great ability, but in more cramped or sensitive environments how cool would it be to navigate difficult terrain while fighting off an enemy? There'd be a lot of good uses! It feels like with every new addition to their moveset we learn more about just what this shadowy ability is capable of in terms of changing shape and contorting to fulfill necessary functions on the field!

Bringing this back as the inspiration behind Ragnarok: Midgard Serpent! This was the thought process behind the supermove that I finally got to debut in the most recent chapter.
