Robert Eads was a transgender man who transitioned later in life and as such it was deemed inadvisable for him to seek sex reassignment surgery. He was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1996 but was refused treatment by more than a dozen doctors, some for personal reasons and others on the grounds that taking him on as a patient might harm their practice. When he finally found a doctor to treat him in 1997, the cancer had already metastasized to other parts of his body, rendering any further treatments futile. He passed away in 1999. His life and death was the subject of the award-winning documentary Southern Comfort (2001).
As i’m sure many of you have heard, the Trump administration just passed a ruling that would remove LGBT+ anti-discrimination protections in health care and health insurance. I immediately thought of this man’s story when I heard about the ruling. Stories like this are the reason why those protections are necessary.
It’s easy to feel hopeless with all the bad news our community has been bombarded with recently. But we have to keep fighting, and one way we can fight is through legal means.
Here are some organizations who have announced plans to take action in court. If you can donate to any of them, please do!
LAMBDA Legal: one of the first to announce they would take legal action against the ruling, LAMBDA Legal is the oldest and largest national legal organization advocating for LGBTQ+ people and people with HIV.
We make the case for equality in the nation s courts and in the court of public opinion. The work we do has impact on the way all of us li

The stated mission of TLC is to connect transgender people and their families to technically sound and culturally competent legal services, increase acceptance and enforcement of laws and policies that support transgender communities, and work to change laws and systems that fail to incorporate the needs and experiences of transgender people.

one of the first laws that needs to go when we abolish the police nationwide is loitering laws. there’s absolutely no reason the state should be able to arrest and fine me for like. existing in public.
and it goes without saying that these laws are used to target black people as well as the homeless
And laws against sleeping in cars. Not only is it used to target homeless people who may have no choice but to sleep in a car, it is also very dangerous and promotes driving while tired.
You know what’s really sexy in Fallout? Repurposing.
Either like, as places, like how Camp Golf and Jacobstown are resorts, or Diamond City is a baseball stadium, or McCarren is an airport, or Arcadia is an observatory. People would flock to enclosed areas with living and working spaces built in.
Or even objects. The fact that Lily uses a vertibird blade as a sword in New Vegas is so good. Objects with clear former purposes will always be better than “prewar gun” or “gun made out of junk”
I bind fanfic and other underground writing into real books. I am a Guerilla publisher.
In a nutshell, the reasons why:
A demonstrative statement on the validity of “fic” in general (and fanfic within that specifically) as a newborn genre of literature that has really only come into its own in the last 15-20 years.
Disrupting preconceptions about what is valuable and worthy of being in print, much less published in a fine edition.
An act of anti-capitalist resistance. Participation in the traditional gift economy of fandom. Most of my projects are volunteer and gifts.
Preservation of fandom history and works for future generations. These books cannot blip out of existence by puritanical updates to a socmed terms of service. These books are acid-free, archive ready, made to survive for another century.
Demonstration against censorship of fiction. Most of the books contain subject matter some people may find objectionable on various grounds.
In summary, it’s a big Fuck You to power structures that silence people. Also it makes my friends so happy that they cry, so that’s nice too.
My book design is deliberately conservative because I am challenging ideas of what should be inside the book. The more a book looks like something a “real” publishing house would put out, the stronger and more subversive the statement it makes.
I am also doing a lot of research working on replicating the style of books from centuries past, and publishing historical fic set in whatever period, in an embodiment that matches. Colors, typography, even form factor as much as possible. I have done Victorian, Edwardian, Renaissance eras.
Here are some various process pics. Books pictured:

Divinity: Original Sin 2
is a game on steam that has a very small fandom for absolutely no reason and i’m making this post to give attention to it for the amazing storytelling and gameplay. it is my all-time favorite game.
it’s a high-quality game with 40-80+ hours of content for a single playthrough that can be played with up to 4 friends, or you can play alone and control up to 4 party members by yourself.
it’s a fantasy game with a world similar to the dragon age series. in fact, it plays similarly too- the game is turnbased and plays much like the tactical mode from dragon age, except it’s pure turnbased/tactical rather than swapping to realtime. the world and quests are open just like dragon age as well.
you can make your own characters, or you can play as the preset origins that have been put into the game. the NPCs will act like other followers in games and have their own personalities, quests, and backstories. the characters are all bisexual and romanceable. many characters scattered through the world will also casually refer to their same-sex partners.
the best way to describe divinity is that it’s dungeons and dragons made into an actual game engine. non-combat stats certainly come in handy when you have to roll for a check to see if you were able to persuade a certain NPC. half of your team could be in combat while the other half are sneaking through the battlefield hidden under barrels. one party member can talk to an NPC while the other one pickpockets them unseen.
your party and your build will change the results of the game every time you play it- you can be kind and virtuous, you can rob every single NPC and become extremely rich, you can persuade yourself through events that would otherwise end in bloodshed, and you could even straight up kill everyone you come across.
classes and builds are fluid- you aren’t locked into any class and can experiment with new combos that haven’t been thought of before. for example, wielding a staff instead of a sword turns all warfare (basically the warrior tree)’s damage into whatever element the staff is, which is increased by your mage stats. you can be a tanky, in-your-face mage that explodes and sets the entire arena on fire.
anyway, thanks for reading! remember to save often and have multiple different saves!
*cannibals in other fandoms, dark, dangerous predators, covered in mystery and fear, hunting their victims, playing mind games with them, rejecting humanity*: It’s useless to resist… You’re just a weeping wax candle… I am a demon with deer antlers hunting your nightmares… Do the lambs still scream, Clarice???…
*cannibals in DOS2, cheerful elves dressed in grass bikini and feathers like they are just from the Pride carnival*: I ate Betsy’s foot to learn her amazing blowjob technique. It’s what she would’ve wanted.
