âDo Dead Malls Go To Heaven?â
Experimented a bit with a new way of detailing the tiles. Kinda like it? This particular piece took a hell of a lot of work. Iâd love if you shared the vibes itâs giving off, for research purposes đ
hi i drew fanart because the vibes were off the charts
"Come on, Ken! We've got to solve what happened to this totally rad shopping mall!"
this literally just reminded me to take my meds
Reminder to all nonbinary people: You can summon SUE the T. rex for aid
man sometimes friendship really is just "I saw this and knew it would give you psychic damage. please respond with agony" and then they do. and it's great
Iâve been cackling about this for like five minutes now

O-okay, letâs get into this, shall we?
*grumbling* Would you rather work for Lex Luthor or the Joker- *shouting* Lex Luthor, by like, a fucking mile!
Yes, yes, working for Lex Luthor is basically like being an Amazon employee that makes weapons of mass destruction, which is bad. Lex is like Donald Trump mixed with Mark Zuckerberg mixed with Jeffrey fucking Bezos, itâs not a great mix. He does not treat his henchmen well. Their lives still suck, and they are probably monitored on how long they take piss breaks for.
But letâs analyze what working for Lex Luthor is like versus the fucking Joker. With Lex you probably get a dental plan, a health plan, a paycheck, and the guy that youâre fighting really cares about human life. Superman will hit you just long enough to knock you out, so youâre not a treat, so he can stop the problem.
If you work for the Joker, your payment is youâre not fucking dead. You say one wrong thing? Bang. You donât laugh at his jokes? Bang! You do laugh at his jokes? Bang! You think Joker gives a fuck about a henchman?
Whoâs Lex Luthorâs right-hand-man? Itâs a woman, you sexist, her name is Mercy, sheâs awesome. Whoâs Jokerâs right-hand-man? Bob? Nah, heâs dead. Harley? Tried to kill her multiple times. Slappy? Who the fuck is Slappy?
The best case scenario of working for the Joker is that you fight the fucking Batman! And that presents its own fucking list of problems. If you stop Superman as a Lex Luthor henchman, Lexâll be pissed, but heâll be at least happy that Superman was caught. If you stop Batman as a Joker henchman, you better have a fucking coffin picked out yesterday.
This isnât a fun hypothetical question, this is a screening technique that the doctors at Arkham use to determine your mental health! There is a right and a wrong answer to this question, and the correct one is Lex fucking Luthor. Thank you for coming to my fucking Ted Talk, have a nice day.

Bitch neither I work for Wayne Industries, they got better offers than work these clowns:
batmans secret special attack is offering all of his enemys henchmen a living wage and guaranteed healthcare
is this gonna get me fired you think
America has a weird relationship with cults where theyâre terrified of small cults (or organizations they think are cults) but completely normalized massive cults that hurt many more people (eg: LDS Church, Jehovahâs Witnesses, the Amish, Scientology, most Megachurches)
To anybody asking if the Amish are a cult, the answer is yes, very much so.
Theyâre a high control group that isolate you from society. The cult decides how you dress, how you behave, who you marry and how. They control what you know, blocking all information from the outside world. They control how you feel and what youâre allowed to think with threats of both social and supernatural harm. Theyâre a cult.
The best method to determine if a group is a cult, in my opinion, is Steven Hassanâs (cult expert and former cult member himself) BITE model.
BITE stands for Behavior Control, Information Control, Thought Control, and Emotional Control.
The more points a group âscoresâ on the model, the more of a cult it is.
I think this model is the best one for several reasons:
Itâs more nuanced than âcultâ or ânot cultâ and doesnât make false equivalences between groups
Itâs versatile, applying to groups big and small, and cults of all kinds, religious, political, financial, etc.
It focuses on whatâs important, which is what the cult does to its members, and those membersâ experiences, and not on irrelevant details like how uncommon their doctrines are or whether they have a charismatic leader
This is a great example of Thought Control used by cults whenever theyâre confronted with criticism.
#you might notice that there are a lot of similarities between cult techniques and those of abusive partners#and that is an important thing to be aware of
yah that goes in the post
The creator of the BITE Model considers abusive relationships to be two-person cults.
Itâs important to note that almost every sect of evangelical christianity in the US today fails the BITE Model.
This was the post that lead to breaking my JW mindset. Been a while since I seen it.
Iâm glad I could help in your deconstruction, if only a little bit. I wish you all the luck in your journey moving forward.
Itâs tricky with parenting, because parents have to control their childrenâs lives to start with, since newborns are incapable of taking care of themselves.
A healthy parent will gradually relinquish control as their child grows and becomes more capable. And even while theyâre in charge, they will treat their child with honesty and transparency and respect. Theyâll prepare their child for independence, giving them the tools they need to live their own life.
A culty, abusive parent will go far beyond the level of control that their role requires. They will use manipulation and undue influence, taking advantage of their childâs naivete and malleable mind for the parentâs own benefit and agenda. They will continue to exercise this control well into their childâs adulthood, possibly their whole life.
Steve Hassanâs work is helpful and the scholarship stands, but in recent years he has unfortunately fallen for anti-trans rhetoric. Daniella Mestynek Young (@KnittingCultLady) developed a 10 part list that she goes into much more thoroughly on her social media account accounts and in her podcast and book, The Culting of America. The podcast is not very active, but the first 10 episodes are an in-depth explanation of her list.
And yes, the Amish hit 9 out of 10 of these characteristics
"it's ok to show (x) in fiction as long as the bad guy gets punished!" the bad guy doesn't have to get punished. in fact the bad guy can win altogether. the bad guy can entirely get away with it. hope this helps
and this part might make some people's head explode but: characters can be written to forgive things you personally wouldn't ever forgive. not everything is written as what you'd perceive to be the right choice. not everything is a self-insert & protagonists don't have to be relatable.
People need to learn the difference between âitâs morally wrong to show (x) in fiction unless the bad guy gets punishedâ and âit upsets me to read about (x) in fiction unless the bad guy is punishedâ
Child soldiers exist, war is not an adult topic.
Children die, death/murder is not an adult topic.
The Troubled Teen Industry exists, child trafficking is not an adult topic.
Children get raped, sexual assault is not an adult topic.
Children have alcoholic parents, addiction is not an adult topic.
Children get beat to the point of hospitalization at school, that level of violence is not an adult topic.
That when these things get into "kid friendly" media at all, they tend to be heavily censored is about protecting adult control over kids, not about protecting children.
"Children have alcoholic parents, addiction is not an adult topic." also children can be addicts. i was a child back when i was an addict
Nova's tips for beating the heatwave:
1. Check that you have good access to shade trees, a shelter custom made to fit you and all your friends, and plenty of good airflow
2. Find the hottest, sunniest, and least windy part of you pasture and lay down
3. Make sure you look as much as possible like you have died of heatstroke
4. Get your friends in on it
Join Us For Our Fandom in Color Editing Chats!
As part of Fanloreâs Fandom in Color month, weâre holding two editing chats over on our Discord on Sun July 19 at 4am UTC (What time is that for me?) and Sun July 19 at 3pm UTC (What time is that for me?}.
What is an âediting chatâ? Itâs a real-time chat where everyone works on doing some Fanlore editing, usually themed around pages of a certain topic. Thereâs no requirement to have edited Fanlore before, as weâre happy to show you the ropes!
The focus will be creating and adding to pages related to fans and fandom of color â characters, communities, events, activism, meta essays, and much more. If youâre passionate about expanding Fanloreâs coverage of this extremely under-served area â so are we! Weâd love you to come along and take part. All participants will also earn a fun badge to post to their Fanlore user page!
Use this link to join our Discord server, and weâll join you there for the chat!
