NOTE: this is only based on the comic so things will be different (for example she has a jacket because Toriel bought her one in an rp on msparp)
The underground was unusually quiet today.
A young girl walked through the forest with a confused look on her face she currently had the hood of her new jacket up because she felt unusually cold. The human was heading towards the ruins now that she knew that the house she had gone through to get out of there was her home she figured she could stop by every now and again, hopefully she doesn’t mind.
She knocked on the door there was no answer Ayda figured she didn’t knock loud enough she knocked harder and several times in a row.
Ayda paused a feeling of dread started to build up “maybe she’s just out yeah she’s probably in Snowdin” she muttered aloud to herself turning around heading to Snowdin.
On the way there she saw no one while she tended to avoid monsters until recently she still saw them but this was just… strange. She pressed on despite this trying her best to ignore that there was something white-ish on the ground… and it wasn’t snow.
Once she got to town she was greeted by more emptiness she shivered and tugged on her jacket trying to find someone, anyone. She knocked on every building, went into Grillby’s and the Library but there was nothing not a trace of life.
She thought about going to waterfall but something stopped her, something told her to stay, which she could do, she was patient enough.
Ayda leaned on the side of a building for what felt like hours until she heard a noise, the nosie of someone walking through snow. She nearly leapt some where she stood but she kept still. She recognized the owner of the noise it was a human.
Despite this the kid was awfully imitating they were just… staring almost as if someone was there that she couldn’t see. They had a bandana and glove on which was covered in…dust. Her thoughts slowed her knowledge about monster hitting her like a truck “no” she thought quietly to herself a child couldn’t have done… that, right?
The child went into the store for a couple minutes and came back out with sevral items from the store before walking off out of the desolate town. She guessed the child was heading to waterfall .
Part of her wanted to follow the child and see if her thoughts were correct but… she didn’t want to, she didn’t want to know what the hell was going on, she was afraid but she didn’t want to admit it. However instead of waiting out in the cold for someone who will never come she went inside the library at least she could read to keep her mind of how bad things looked.
How long has it been? She honestly had no clue but she has just been sitting here… waiting and hoping that maybe this is just a really long and detailed nightmare and that she would eventually wake up with nobody de- missing.
Minutes pass but it feels like hours.
She got up and put the books away even though there was nobody around to care. She left the building and looked around she couldn’t take it anymore she was going to leave.
Maybe she would find someone in waterfall…
Once again no one could be found however the dust on the ground was much more obvious but Ayda tried to ignore it, like it wasn’t there. As she looked forward she ended up zipping up her jacket she felt cold even though Waterfall isn’t that cold.
As she got the welcome sign to Hotland she found herself staring at the child again. They were covered in more dust there was no doubt in her mind why everyone had disappeared but she didn’t want to accept it why would a child do this? However part of her grew angry reaching into her bag grabbing hold of her pocket knife.
The rational part of her told her that she shouldn’t just go after the child with a knife but for the most part that got completely ignored.
Her voice got the child attention turned towards her with a confused look now she could see that the child had bright red eyes… that disturbed her.
“Why did you kill them?” Ayda asked her voice was quiet and shaky.
She took the pocket knife out of the bag before carelessly throwing the bag to the side.
“What did they do…” her voice remained shaky but slowly grew in volume.
“To deserve THIS!?” she yelled only know did she realize she had begun to cry, she had not been down here that long but she had made some good friends down here and now they’re gone, she’ll never see them again her mind momentary backtracked to her conversation with Aoro the first human she had seen down here besides herself, Asgore who is probably the nicest king she has ever met and Toriel who had been so kind to her.
Her hand was shaking she wanted to attack the child for what they did but at the same time they didn’t want to hurt them they didn’t want to hurt a child even if they had done terrible things.
The child stared for a moment before smiling completely turning to face Ayda holding a dust covered book up threateningly.
Ayda had the first turn she stared at the kid tears running down her face “why did you do this?” she asked deciding not to attack yet.
The child gave no answer remaining silent before attacking… it did a lot more damage than anticipated.
Ayda stumbled back in surprise but she was still alive but she knew another attack would probably kill her, the grip on her knife tightened.
“n-no answer, huh?” her voice had lost volume she was afraid she was afraid about what this child could do she had to do something. She lifted her knife about to swing...
but the knife never came down.
“I-I can’t d-do this” Ayda stared down at the child who’s expression had changed to something she couldn’t read.
Ayda fell down onto her knees she was badly hurt she knew she wasn’t getting out of this she dropped the pocket knife and used her last moments to just stare at the child, was it even a child?, before her.
The last thing she saw was the child raising their weapon and bringing it down onto her soul.
