<7p Cat Coloring Book> is different from other coloring books that people cannot enjoy them as a whole piece they made while the book closed. When you finish your coloring and open it, you can find one larger piece drawn by yourself. And truly, it’s not a poster. It’s a book itself. You can see the cover, open it, turn it to the next page, and read a story - on the back is a poem <I Heard That Cat Likes Box> about imaginary life with a cat.

It can be filled with real cat patterns or some from your imagination.

The book lies in a plastic CD case. The book(image) replaces CD-ROM(song).

Tangerine peel, which is a dead skin of a live fruit, can represent the story and mood of the song “Chandelier” being drowned and extremely dried.

<Illustrated Film Face Book> is an artwork series since 11th April 2017 on iio’s Facebook page

There would be various and colorful face from numerous inspiring films illustrated with twist-up crayons for kids. The format where illustrations lie is mix of two, palette(drawing) and pdf marks(book). The color marks show the crayons used in each drawing.

<The Index of Tangjinjam>

‘Tangjinjam’ is a new word in 2016 for consuming pattern of this generation. It has a mixed meaning of dissipation and fun which sounds quite self-mocking. <The Index of Tangjinjam> is a book about Instagram posts hashtagging ‘Tangjinjam’ so that we can figure out where people find their cheap happiness today. The viral poster version borrows seizure stickers to show the self-mocking on this consuming pattern.

<Contemporary Vincent> is a set of paintings, drawings, iPad display of a fake instagram account, letters and my little collection about Vincent van Gogh.

At the right of the yellow center line is something real and at the left something unreal.

A painting across the center line is about “talent donation” which is a huge topic among numberless college students and artists in South Korea. Some of employers do not pay them as much as they deserve, saying artist shouldn’t chase after money, and I thought the fact that there is no ‘minimum wage’ for artist in this ‘art world’ trigger this ridiculous insistence. The painting is a complex of TV commercial for a part-time job information website and Vincent van Gogh’s Self-portrait with Starry Night on the background. Maybe even though we’re like Van Gogh, we must speak out loud for our rights.

We cannot look at scars on our mind but also cannot check them everytime. <Portraits of Suicide Note>, turning 44 suicide notes into 44 pieces of portrait, shows the invisible scars of suicides through faces where they could never hide.

Gathered from news articles, the last messages by people leaving world behind and the last names the world gave them are all about the whole human society from school, workplace, to home, e.g. ‘high school student A’, ‘firefighter B’, and ‘single elderly C’. That may prove the scars are not made by only one person. Furthermore, the audience of the artwork is not the suicides but someone left behind.

The set of artwork is to show people what invisible scars may look like and then to let them think about who made this scars by the way of binding set of portraits and suicide notes in a book.

The book is made of two parts, half filled with pages of drawing(image) and another half with pages of suicide note(text) rotated 180 degrees. Readers should check which image matches which text by page numbers. To rotate and turn the pages is not convenient but, well, the story of the book is not either. The installation of the artwork with drawing on paper and suicide note on post-it fluttering represents a remanent place of the dead.
