I often wonder how many more scientists weâd have if we congratulated kids for working hard rather than praising them for being smart. We need to get rid of the myth that science is only accessible to an intellectual elite.

While collecting stones along the east coast of his hometown in Maine, it dawned on artist Alan Magee how the beauty of an object draws in its own attention. His hyperrealistic acrylic and oil paintings look unbelievably like photographs, capturing the quiet intensity of those stones, pebbles and rocks that demanded his contemplation. Each is arranged in softly lit, zen like compositions, where Magee has stacked them like cairns or on top of other objects, while in other pieces, they appear scattered like a starry Milky Way galaxy, bleached white by the sun and sand with their own stories to tell.Â

Truth Coming Out of Her Well to Shame Mankind, 1896 by Jean-Léon GérÎme
Iâve been thinking a lot about it and this is literally the best title of anything
so I guess it was some ancient Greek who said âtruth lives at the bottom of a wellâ and I donât know what he meant or why it stuck, but Iâve seen a lot of 19th-century references to it (because people always love showing off how much they know about stuff)
but I like this because imagine how fucking pissed off you would be if you lived at the bottom of a well in the first place, but then you had to climb all the way out of it somehow because humans were such unbelievable assholes that you were forced to yell at them in person
âI CAME OUT OF THE WELL BECAUSE YOU NEED TO STOPâ
I just spit all over my phone lol
Honestly me.

Classic animators doing reference poses for their own drawings. Iâm in love with these images.
Part of the reason animators like to work alone, late at night when no one is watching.
âA wolf pack: the first 3 are the old or sick, they give the pace to the entire pack. If it was the other way round, they would be left behind, losing contact with the pack. In case of an ambush they would be sacrificed. Then come 5 strong ones, the front line. In the center are the rest of the pack members, then the 5 strongest following. Last is alone, the alpha. He controls everything from the rear. In that position he can see everything, decide the direction. He sees all of the pack. The pack moves according to the elders pace and help each other, watch each other.â Cesare Braiâs photo
