Moments like these, moments where TJ was sick and just miserable, were ones he hated the most. Unfortunately, he knew about the other's past, he knew about his struggles with drugs and alcohol, and knew that he struggled with a lot of the same things he did. If it hadn't been for TJ he knew he wouldn't have been able to come out like he had, and a part of him felt like he owed the other so much for that. TJ would never agree with that, but he would forever be in his debt when it came to finally being okay with who he was. Laying there, his mind went over everything that had been happening and what would be happening. It was the downside to him just laying there; his mind constantly ran through different scenarios. But he'd promised TJ he would lay with him, and he wasn't about to just get up now that the other was asleep. His body might start contemplating it, but he'd promised the other he'd lay with him while he slept. Though, a part of him was hoping that he wouldn't sleep half the day away. Even he couldn't lay still for that long. The sound of a cough had him turning his head towards TJ and he knew then that the other was finally awake. He felt bad something like that had woken him up, but he knew that something like that was bound to happen. Whatever bug TJ had seemed to tighten its grip and he wondered if maybe he shouldn't nudge the other towards a doctor. "Morning, sleepy head," he teased, running a hand through his hear. Even if he wasn't feeling all that great, he knew such a gesture would be comforting at least. "Don't worry about waking me up. I don't need a lot of sleep, remember?" And he didn't want TJ worrying more about him than he already did. Being together was difficult when he went on international missions. He couldn't tell him where he was going or when he'd be back. And he knew TJ worried which made everything worse. But in that moment he was the one worrying. "Do you want me to get you anything? Maybe get some soup or something delivered?" His ma used to make soup when he was sick. Well, she made soup more often than not, but when he was sick she made a particular type that tended to help. And maybe the same thing would help TJ.
