Wise words. Don't stop trying!
I like to think I'm seeing progress. It's only been a week since my last photo post. And the mirror can be deceiving. I haven't figured out the best way to capture a shot that going to show the exact same angle the exact same way each week. I took both of these pictures seconds apart and just the change in distance from the mirror can make it look different. Eh well. I'll know when I have abs obviously... However good thing to know is compared to a year or so ago I know I have dropped a pants sizes so that's saying something. I was wearing a juniors 9 now I'm wearing a juniors 7, which is a ladies 6. I have a size 4 that ALMOST fits. So I'll just use that as a point of progress for me. Stupid mirror pics.
My current view. For whatever reason my body decides that 445 was what time it wanted to wake up today. Most of the time I am extremely annoyed when I wake up 3 hours before my alarm, but I decided to take this time to actually get a jump on my day and get my workout out of the way so that I wouldn't have all day to think about skipping the gym. I'm still recovering from a random strep throat sickness I got over the weekend and the antibiotics make my stomach hate me, but I figured I'll push through it now rather than continuing to say "i'll go tomorrow"
Hi there, I saw your page and I'm coaching a nutrition and fitness support group. Would you be interested in joining?
That sounds pretty cool and also very motivating. What does it entail?
Got out to get some sun today before hitting the gym. The northeast you gotta be sure to take advantage of the sunny hot days. They don't last too long!
I think positing a progress photo once a week will help me stay more accountable and hopefully more quickly reach my goals.
Day two: success
Stayed under my calorie and fat goal today and hit the gym for a good half hour of cardio. Lifting in the am. Any recommendations for weigh ins? I've read a lot of conflicting information; some sources recommend weighing yourself daily. Others say weekly, some say not at all until you see results?
#freebiestruggles
I've had a Starbucks reward waiting on my app for weeks now. And even through all my unhealthy eating over vacation up until me getting some sense and getting back on track I didn't use it. But now, the day it expires, I want to use it! I don't know why or what is in my head that makes it so hard to resist free food. I also am glad that the LoseIt! app has restaurant data in it, because when I look at what I used to order it it just plain ridiculous in terms fat content and carbohydrates. Venti vanilla bean frappucinno? Hello 25+ grams of fat! Nonfat white chocolate mocha frappucinno? How about 10, with whipped cream 😍 Glad I've opened my eyes to make healthier choices as I slowly begin to wean myself off of freebies.
Ugh
I've been gone for too long! In all honesty, I fell off the bandwagon for sure. I went on vacation in Florida for a week just before the 4th and had the most relaxing time ever. Relaxing also meant eating what I wanted and beers on the beach. I had figured I'd get back into it once I was back... Went down to three days a week at the gym...then two... And blah. I read a motivational post about fitness by one of my former associates, and what stood out to me is that he said that changing your body is a commitment to yourself. And those words kicked me back into gear! Back to using my LoseIt! app. Back to meaning sessions at the gym. And this time no excuses! It's so hard to stay motivated, but nothing good comes easy!
I found this great read and learned it's ok to give in a little every once in a while. Willpower is not an unlimited resource! Portion control is key
Changes
I'm not seeing the results that I want so far. And I am well aware of why... I just need to keep some willpower and force myself to make changes. Too many cheat days, and too much socializing. I say socializing because majority of my friends are like "hey let's go drink at a bar on Tuesday" instead of hey it's chest day!" I need more gym buff friends to help me kick my ass in gear! I've started adding more cardio pre/post my lift sessions. I know the lifting is working because I have been able to comfortably move to heavier weights and I can see the muscle. But I'm forgetting a huge part during my Ab Quest... Abs are made in the kitchen as well as the gym... So even though I could be killing it 5 days a week at the gym, if I'm stuffing my face with fries and several vodka tonics on random Tuesday's and Thursday's and then spending my Saturdays at random friend/family gatherings eating cake (😑) there is no way I'm going to lose this belly fat!
I found this super interesting!
Finally taking some time to get back on track and update you guys!
From Wed - Sun I had cheat days... cheat week you may as well call it.
I had a friend visiting from out of town who is only able to visit once a year or so (lives internationally), two bridal showers, and a birthday party.
I did my best to make smart choices, but I am still realizing that when I am around food it is damn hard not to eat it! Especially cheese... omg cheese is ultimate love 😍
The one thing I am happy about is how my body now reacts to sweets since I pretty much don’t eat those anymore... luckily I never had much of a sweet tooth... I took a piece of my friend’s son’s beautiful birthday cake, took a few bites, and I felt like death. Stomach was unhappy, I was sluggish and lacked energy... I don’t want cake again!
So even though my weekend had lots of beverages and foods that are a little higher in fat/carbs/alcohol than I’d like, I can immediately recognize that I still am and have been making progress!
i hope you send some in soon! thank you
Did you not get it
Baby kale and Swiss chard mix with orange bell pepper, chicken tenderloins grilled in the George Foreman, baby Bella mushrooms, about a tablespoon of feta cheese, with fat free red wine vinegar dressing.
As much as I want to say this can be true for me...
...French fries are my true weakness 😂😅
