I think the whole issue of "male character does something bad, gets praised, but female character does the same and gets hated by fandom," is happening in the DW fandom

So Shrimpo is well known for being a little angry guy, constantly saying he hates everything and everyone, thats like his whole thing. Lots of people love him, or have fun headcanons like he has a softspot for toons and ship him and stuff. Lots of fun yes

But Bassie, the new Easter toon, is cold towards Cocoa because she's afraid Cocoa will replace her. Cocoa has done nothing wrong ofc, but Bassie is angry and afraid of being killed off/replaced

Yet..... I see TONS of people expressing their hatred for Bassie because of these dialog exchanges with Cocoa, saying she's their least favorite and she's a bitch, #1 hater of Bassie, etc etc

People act like bassie is Satan for being mean to one toon because she's afraid, Meanwhile?? Shrimpo gets a pass to be outwardly mean to everyone because....??? What if secretly softie on the inside? What if Yaoi?
