“Somehow, Nico's life only gets more confusing after he defeats a primordial GoddessWill Solace accounts for about 90% of that confusion. (A journey through August, and all its ups and downs.)”

- Slow burn! The buildup is insane. It’s so sweet and I love the slight enemies to friends to lovers arc.
- Characters are at canon ages, and the author did a really great job of capturing crushes, teenage romance, curiosity, and friendship.
- Not only do we get to see Nico‘s perspective of his relationship with Will, but we also get to see his healing friendship with Percy, Jason, and the rest of the Argo crew, which is really special to see in fics.
- To be completely honest, I don’t think the tags that this author chose give the fic the justice it deserves. Some important things that I would add is that it starts right after Octavian‘s death and carries on from there. Additionally, it’s important to note that it has the beloved three days in the infirmary trope, plus more.
- While this fic is definitely not crazy or anything, it addresses Nico‘s mental health struggles. This fic is rated teen and up audiences, but I would say it’s slightly above that level due to some of its themes. Just make sure to read the tags!
- I would give this fic a 4.8/5. It’s one of my favorites and I cannot recommend it enough to solangelo fans.
- This fic was amazing. The characterization, the humor, the writing, everything was so well done. I cannot recommend this enough. The way this amazing author writes Nico and his pov of his blooming relationship with Will is so interesting to read.
- Again, the characterization is beautiful. It’s one of my favorites in fanfiction, the way that the author captures Nico is so interesting and on point.
- This author does have other works, which are also amazing and I will link below, but ‘August’ special holds a special place in my heart. It’s canon driven, and the author takes so much timeline buisness into account and it’s clear she put so much work into it.
- It’s also super funny! If you enjoy fics that will make you giggle, and you love Nico di Angelo, this one’s for you because the dark humor and sarcasm is genuinely so good.
- I cannot recommend this work enough, it’s a good long read, it’s very well written, and it’s super entertaining and definitely makes you think.

“Somehow, Will's life only gets more confusing after he helps to defeat a primordial Goddess. Nico di Angelo accounts for about 90% of that confusion. (A journey through August, and all its ups and downs. But from Will's POV, this time.)”

- This is Will’s POV! It is a work in progress and even at eight chapters, it’s still definitely a lengthy read.
- From my understanding, this work is still being updated consistently.
- The first bit of this fic captures Will delivering Millie’s baby and then we get to see into Will’s perspective of the battle.
- This fic captures how Will processes the war with Gaia and meeting Nico, and his experience with the first war and what came with that. It’s really interesting to see how will copes with being a medic and his job as a healer, and the trauma and anxiety of his character that is so commonly skimmed over in the fandoms.
- Again, this work is rated teen and up audiences, but I recommend reading the tags and taking into account that it explores Will’s mental health and past traumatic experiences.
- So far, this fic is amazing. I love how she writes Will’s character and after reading August, it’s really cool to see Will’s POV this time. The author writes about will in a way that feels very personal and it really shows how Will is a much more important and complex character than many people think.
- It’s awesome to see Will‘s relationship with people at camp, such as Lou Ellen, Cecil, and Clarisse, etc. I love the characterization of even the minor characters in this work. Additionally, I love seeing him as a head counselor and caring for the younger kids, because I think that’s very important for his character.
- Just like August, it’s quite funny, and the humor is very dry and sarcastic, the author also does an amazing job of the banter and dialogue between Will and his friends, so that’s very satisfying and entertaining to read.
-So far, I would rate this a high 4 out of 5, very similar to August! I highly recommend this to the solangelo and Will solace fans out there like me.
- This is the link to CordeliaRose’s profile, she has some other solangelo fics I highly recommend looking into. I’ve read all of them!

- Quick organization note just in case: “August” is in Nico’s pov and I would highly recommend reading that first, and then reading “August (Will’s version).”
