okay i made some more art since last time i posted, so im gonna do it in two parts, one for each character this time, we roundin out the trilogy with this guy they call him knuckles. unlike sonic he don't chuckle. I decided to give him more of a plant vibe because I've always been wondering where he got those modern-looking metal shoes in canon because he lives on an island and is the descendant of a tribe that has not been depicted to wear shoes like those often. So here have the was-gonna-to-be-a-Nike-promotion with not one but two poses

(Note: It's advised to read the last post's text if you wanna read and fully understand the text here, but it is not necessary and in either case you don't have to read the text if you wanna just look at the art. That's fine.) So do you remember in my Modern Sonic post my lil explanation for green eyes? No? Because this post was made like five minutes after that post? Yeah that makes sense. Well, there I gave Modern Super Sonic green-shifting-to-red eyes to represent the amount of Chaos Energy in him that is stable and controllable for him being at its limit--this post is about what happens when Sonic goes past that limit, and what happened within the first couple of times of classic Sonic going Super in this version of him that weirdly combines things from various continuities and a few headcanons to make its own lore. There are two things that can happen when someone has too much energy. Either their body is destroyed in a sudden burst of uncontrolled Chaos Energy that threatens to tear through everything around it until it dissipates... or you hit that little spot where it's too much for the user to handle, but not their body or the connected source of that energy. What happens then is that the energy itself takes over the user during their unconscious state, with one main goal--expel as much Chaos Energy as possible to return to a more stable state, with no regard for who or what is hit by that energy in the process. Normally this state doesn't last very long, as that energy can be expelled rather quickly. The only problem is if you're receiving Chaos Energy from a *really* powerful source that can and will continue to supply just as much energy as is being shot out. Like the Master Emerald. Our version of Sonic, who still wasn't as experienced in controlling high levels of Chaos Energy, may have tried to go Super with the Master Emerald once. When that wave of energy first hit him, it did send him into Super, but it became so overwhelming that he was knocked out immediately, forcing the Chaos Energy within him to take control. With its extended existence from it being unable to remove enough energy from itself or disconnect from the Master Emerald (as the energy controlling Sonic came directly from it), it ended up developing a personality built on the hedgehog's, twisted with a strong desire to destroy and wreak havoc. A sentient monster who'd quietly remain in Sonic for years to come, hiding in the traces of Chaos Energy left in his body after the fact and only growing more powerful with him over time. ...Yeah I basically just put Super Sonic in the Fleetway Comics in my lore as a variation to the regular Super form. The extended explanation above was probably not necessary provided that we know who this guy is already. Oh well.

New Modern Sonic (MixSonic)

To continue with the new sprite/design for the classic iteration of Sonic I made yesterday (which is basically just Toei/Junio Sonic in my style), I decided that I needed to make his modern variant. So... here ya go

And now I'm gonna mention a neat lore thing I put for his eyes (I am not the first one to have this idea but I came up with it before seeing that other people already had (such as a reddit comment on a post editing a drawing of classic Sonic to have green eyes that has a very, very similar explanation to this below but a lot shorter)) This ties to my decision to give classic Super Sonic green eyes like in Sonic 3 and Knuckles and not red by default. It's basically just the high amounts Chaos Energy in him shifting that color, but in my interpretation red and green eyes have separate meanings--in this case, green being stable, controlled levels of Chaos Energy that is attuned to its user. Over Sonic's repeated use of the Chaos Emeralds and other sources of Chaos Energy (plus the fact that he collects a lot of Rings and Rings hold a tiny amount of Chaos Energy) meant that his body started storing its own Chaos Energy and more permanently attuning to it, making his eyes green as he grew up and giving him increased speed as well as certain abilities such as Boost or the Homing Attack.

As a bonus to reading all that (or just scrolling past it), here's modern Super Sonic, with a mixture of both green and red in his eyes. With this transformation, his natural Chaos Energy combined with the energy in the Emeralds builds up to way higher than it used to, and in every use of this transformation he's sort of at the limit at how much energy he and the Emeralds can manage before it becomes unstable for him. I'll get briefly into what that means in the next post, but I figure you can guess already where this might be going.

oh yeah to go with the last post I also made this artwork of Sonic and Eggman, whose design I am not updating to match the new Sonic because he's so tall it already lines up alright plus the style hasn't changed all too much in the other areas anyhow

bonus: lil showcase of this version's Eggmobile technically referred to as the E.G.G. Mobile v1.3.2 E.G.G. = Emerald-Geared Gadgets Included are adjustable rockets on the side of the E.G.G. Mobile that can rotate to adjust fire and also be removed. The open slots can then be used to attach something else (like a claw, drill, flamethrower, or something like that) or used to connect the E.G.G. Mobile to a larger machine. I've also given it a lore explanation on how the E.G.G. Mobile itself doesn't explode with the mech it's usually put inside, that being that it runs on Chaos Energy, which can be either achieved through a Chaos Emerald or by powering it with a bunch of Rings/Energy Rings. When the E.G.G. Mobile detects high temperatures and impacts, especially while "suddenly disconnecting" from another machine, it will briefly overcharge itself with Chaos Energy, which then absorbs the blast. It's kinda like how Sonic doesn't just immediately die when hitting a spike as long as he has at least one ring. And that dark blue window it has? It's extra protection, and also lets him use this bad boy underwater or even in deep space because of course the E.G.G. Mobile's got oxygen tanks.

so uhh would this count as like a really late sonic 35th anniversary artwork orrrrr EDIT: Just now noticed Eggman's foot is clipping through the window of his Eggmobile. Fixed it.

SCP stuff (2/2)

Notes:

SCP-076's design was heavily influenced by the Roblox game SCP: Roleplay, but I grabbed what I could of the official Wikidot description.

SCP-610's design can be a lot more varied because of its ways of infection, the design presented is just an example.

My design of SCP-173 comes with a rewrite of his own page (that ill post when I've finished it) combined with some lore I came up with for a potentially small SCP canon where various SCPs from Site-19 are relocated on short notice to a new facility upon a mass breach determining that having as many SCPs at Site-19 as there are is just too dangerous. 173 and a bunch of other SCPs are temporarily moved to Area-199 (a medium-sized facility with its main purpose being temporary relocation and transportation of objects), whose staff is not fully prepared. In fact, having all these SCPs end up here puts them over their maximum capacity.

SCP-053, the Young Girl, was also made, but not included here because I think the sprite could get an overhaul.
