Sufyan ibn Uyaynah رَحِمَهُ اللهُ:
Do not abandon duʻa' and do not let (the evil) that you know about yourself prevent you from duʻa’. Indeed, Allah answered Iblis whilst he is the evilest of all creation, Allah mentions:
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِي إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ (٣٦) قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنظَرِينَ (٣٧)
(Iblis) said: Oh my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected. Allah said: Then verily, you are of those reprieved.

"The more you ask Allah (in du'a), the closer you get to Him-and the more beloved you become to Him.
And the more you insist in supplication, the more He loves you”
—Ibn al Qayyim | Jalaa' al-Afhaam, 1/3441
Abdullah Ibn Mubarak (رحمه الله) said:
"I love the pious people even though I’m not one of them, and I hate the evil people even though I (may be) worse than them."
