This movie was so wonderfully about learning how to grow up and grapple with what you have and what you’ve lost. It’s about realizing that you’re growing up faster than you can keep up with, drifting away from your childhood friends, and burning yourself the fuck out in the process of it all.
I genuinely think that this is the reason Spiderman is such a beloved superhero. He's not rich. He's not a deity. He's neither a savior nor an assassin.
He's just a kid. Trying to grow up and stay true to who he is. He's just trying to do his best with the cards he's been dealt. That's it. And that's why we all, especially the youth, resonate with him so much.
