August 14 2017 - Protesters in Durham, North Carolina decide to take matters into their own hands and take down a confederate statue.

The statue represented a soldier who fought in the Civil War and an inscription on the front read “The Confederate States of America.”

One organizer of the protest told WNCN that toppling the statue was in response to the violence at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va. this weekend.“It needs to be removed,” organizer Loan Tran told the news station. “These Confederate statues in Durham, in North Carolina, all across the country.” [video]

random studyblr PSA: if you’re looking for a plant to put on your desk (where its not gonna get much light), don’t get a succulent, lithops, split rock or cactus! they’re beautiful plants but they need lots of light, and you’re just gonna waste your time and money when your plant either gets severely etiolated or ends up dying. some great ideas for a study plant are: snake plant, ivy, pothos, ferns, philodendron and calathea (calathea is my favourite because it has pretty flowers)

Yes! I was going to make a post about this! All the time people get succulents and keep them places with little light and expect them to thrive. I love pothos so much, they are wonderful!
