Lapis used to not care about colors, and then when she did, she didnât wanna like blue. It was the color of Earthâs ocean and sky, but it was also the color of her oppressive Diamond. Lapis decided to favor gold ever since then.
âBeard? Hehe, sometimes I want one, but all my powers to change appearances are kindaâŠpfftâŠâ She blew and raspberry and turned her thumb down. She then thought for a moment, perking back up.
âLazulis come out of the ground with short hair, or it all tied back. We donât want it in the way when weâre flying, yaâ know. But now that I can do whatever I want, who says I donât want something new!â She smiled at him.
He was weird, but she kinda didnât mind. âIf youâre a barber, would you consider taking care of this?â She gestured to her hair, messy from her swim, it also had several layers of dried saltwater in it, as she did all her swimming here in and ocean, and hadnât rinsed it out in a while.
This was interesting, hearing her talk about herself -- and her kind -- emerging from the ground, but Fred wasnât ever one to judge.
âFlying? So you are capable of taking to the skies?â Fred would be interested in hearing about that -- but the topic was of hair, not flight. He returned a smile.
âIt is always nice to be able to do what one wants -- Iâve found that my stay in this city has allowed for substantial new freedoms from former landlords. And to try something new is part of living life!â
For a moment he paused to evaluate her hair, looking it over. He kept a distance from her, to be respectful. There was a lot of saltwater and it seemed like it might be a challenge to clean up -- but Fred knew about hair.
âI suppose I could give a quick wash and some trims to do something about loose strands and ratâs nests. But youâd need to make an appointment.â
