It's good that RWBY found a new home
But now with me being pragmatic, I'm still on the fence about RWBY's future. Why?
Well for starters, Viz Media focuses on anime and manga releases in the NA. They don't have an EU branch anymore from what I can recall. So that'll be an interesting topic on how they'll handle distribution of home releases and merch for the franchise when it comes to regions outside North America.
Secondly, I genuinely don't see them continuing RWBY in the original format under Viz. Instead, I foresee that they'll continue Team RWBY's story in a manga (Whether that it'll have a weekly or monthly release schedule, time will tell). I don't quite recall Viz ever really producing shows on their own, they just translate, provide English voice overs, and release it for home media and streaming services.
HOWEVER, if the manga does wind up successful enough, I can see talks of an anime happening for it. Except, I don't think it'll be 3D like before, unless they bring in Orange for that task. It'll more likely be 2D and I can't say what studio can pick this up (because they all seem pretty packed right now, maybe Shaft again??)
Again, I am HAPPY that RWBY found a stable home but as for its future it's still very uncertain on how they'll handle it.
