is that Zedediah “Zed” Darrow? they bear a striking resemblance to Avan Jogia. I heard they are a 29/302 year old vampire who came to the Hotel La Lune 25 years ago seeking a permanent home for once. word has it they are a Gas Station Attendant. I guess the locals will have a lot to say about them...

bio:

Born Rakesh Singh in 1721 on a ship that was crossing the Atlantic Ocean, his family was aboard when it was attacked by the English. Everyone on the ship was captured or killed. An English soldier took pity on the young baby and brought him home. Renamed Zedediah Darrow, the young child grew up with their new family and moved to the Caribbean after a few years in London. Once old enough, Zed started working on the docks. They went from ship to ship as a dock hand. With each ship, Zed was treated poorly until he found one captain that treated him the same as the rest of the crew. Captain Allistar of The Red Rose, took Zed under his wing when their family no longer supported them. Zed blindly followed Allistar’s every word. After a year into piracy, Zed found out his Captain was a vampire. It didn’t change Zed’s views on Allistar and they too wanted to become one. With a lot of convincing and the Red Rose being under attack, Allistar changed Zed and let them loose on the other ship. After Zed changed, Allistar wasn’t the kind caring captain with daily punishments until Zed had enough and left on their own. 

On their own for a few decades, Zed traveled around America keeping a low profile among the humans. Until the early 20th century, Zed was on his own. A traveling circus crossed their path. The ringmaster, Anika, was a vampire that Zed instantly fell for. So they dropped everything to join this circus. History repeated itself with Anika and she used Zed for her own personal uses. But this time once Anika was done with Zed, she dumped them in nowhere. Zed had heard of a small town nearby with a famous hotel for supernaturals. Zed found Calypso Cove and Hotel la Lune.

"I don't know, I feel like gas station people have a sort of intense power. I mean, if you wanted to, couldn't you ban me from topping up here? And then I could never leave Calypso, 'cause there's just the one gas station.... isn't that power?" Fionn asked, rambling a little as his thoughts got ahead of him, moving faster than his voice. "I could make you something that isn't coffee! There's-" He was about to launch into an enthusiastic description of every hot chocolate, chai latte, and any other non caffeinated drink option, and perhaps it was a good thing he was too distracted by the idea of a day old hot dog to finish. "Oh! I'd love one!"

Zed liked how he thought. They just chuckled. It had been a while since they had met an interesting human. Most humans bored them. "You are right. I do have that power." They were going to keep that thought in mind when they were getting annoyed by some customer. Zed glanced back at the different arrangement of beverages and a slight disgust scrunched on their face. "Nah, it's okay. None of those are really my choice of drink. You might have it, but I'm not sure it's on the menu." Zed was surprised at the enthusiasm from him. "Awesome. I'll take you up on that drink offer later." Zed made their way back into the building. It wasn't a busy day at all, so they led Fionn to the back of the store. There was a good size pile of snacks and food that Zed was instructed to toss by the end of the day. "Take your pick. All of it's going bad today, so we can't technically sell this. And I'm not going to eat it."

"Car Coffee is good too!" Fionn enthused, giving a nod to the suggestion, grin illustrating his approval. "Oh, I lose track of time," he said with a shrug, "I could've been out here for hours already, honestly." More likely ten minutes, but he'd daydreamed enough that it felt longer. "I'll just be here until someone tells me to leave, I guess. Don't suppose you wanna tell me to leave?" He gave Zed a hopeful look, although he doubted this would work in the way he was wanting it to. Looked like he'd be stuck for the foreseeable future. "You want a coffee or-?"

"Thanks." They gave a small smile. Zed could understand the feeling of losing sense of time. Not from the actual decades they had been on this earth but from the draining bore that this gas station provided. Zed was sure he hadn't been out there that long. They would have notice him way sooner. "If only I had that power." They sighed. "I only work the register. Not much power in that." By their judgement, Fionn had worked enough to deserved some sort of break. Their eyes locked onto the setup Fionn had. "Nah. Can't stand the stuff. I've never been a coffee person. But I tell you if you want to help me get rid of some inventory that I have to throw away. Hope you don't mind day old hot dogs."

It was just typical that even a tidal wave wouldn't stop his boss from wanting to make some money. Fionn had honestly been counting on getting the day off and hadn't even set an alarm, only to wake to an annoyed phone call informing him that they'd be serving iced coffee and soft drinks on a stand outside the gas station of all places now that The Catch was in need of some repairs, until further notice. Not exactly his personal favourite place to be, and that was clear on his face as he glanced around, absentmindedly scooping ice into a cup. "Have you ever heard of a beach bar outside a gas station? Doesn't this make it a gas bar? A petrol pub?"

As the last minute replacement for the opener for the gas station, Zed was already annoyed to be there. Lucky for them, they had their hands on a daylight charm. Going out in the sun was not an issue, they just had to keep ring on their finger. Earning a couple more bucks this week, they couldn't complain too much. Like everyone in town, they had heard about the mess on the beach. What they didn't expect to have a whole other business to set up outside. It was a slow day, so they decided to check it out. Stepping out of the gas station building, Zed ventured over to the stand. "Is that what this is?" They gestured to the set up. "I was going to say something like Car Coffee." Zed wasn't the best with names. "But don't listen to me. Hey, how long you have you out here for? So I tell people why I haven't turned on our coffee maker."
