hey so filming people without their consent is weird. you know that right? filming people you don't know and they aren't aware of what you're doing is creepy. posting strangers online is fucking weird. we're too comfortable with doing it now for shits and giggles, chasing some sort of viral hit instead of reckoning with the fact that you posted someone who did not consent to their body and face being publically used.

we're being pushed these Meta Glasses as if mass surveillance of strangers is fun and normal! it's weird!!! there are already reports that people are using these to film women without them knowing and sharing it to communities who get off on this shit. who else knows who people are filming. these glasses with cameras are not obvious and that is dangerous.

#i already feel self conscious when filming/taking pics of people that do know about it #like buskers on the streets or the guards in uk with the big hats #i'd be weirded out if i had a job like that #idk if they are #not esc

Correction: the entire visual design is a disaster this year. It lacks any overarching theme, and even something as basic as coherence between the elements

#there's the 70th anniversary theme #and then the vienna city-of-culture golden-heart thing #and i hate from the bottom of my heart how they're using a 1000 different fonts #not even mentioning the blatant gen ai shifting hear #the standards for the graphical design are rock bottom this edition #i hope the “consistent brand identity” that got us the logo and slogans removed does not also apply to design

at least the 2022 flopcards can be blamed on the COVID restrictions and not only that, but this year the artists were in Vienna to shoot the postcards! like why would you spend money on flying everyone to Austria and then produce THIS?
